ASEAN Hive Challenge #107 "Night Markets" | My Cool Adventure Of Night Markets In My Hometown 💫✨
(Edited)
A cool adventure of Roxas Night Market in the King City of the Southern Philippines.
Roxas Avenue was a street with automobiles and people driving by during the day, just like any other. When the clock strikes 6:00 p.m., Roxas Avenue, often known as Roxas, begins to fill up. It transforms the busy roadway into a bustling marketplace with an abundance of dining options. you can pinch pennies, the night market Street food and thrift shops or ukay-ukay sellers have finished setting up their stalls. People from all walks of life-students, professionals, and even international visitors-start flocking to the stalls lined up along the street. The stalls and area for food searchers, thrift, or ukay-ukay buyers take up nearly half of the route. The remaining space is designated for jeepneys and other passers-by.
For seasoned bargain seekers and lovers of street food, 🥗🍡 Roxas Night Market is a treasure find. 💞Following your street food binge, you may burn off all those calories with a lot of shopping and strolling. The night market's retail area offers a wide variety of goods, including novelty products, stuffed toys, high-quality mementos, and even trinkets.
Access to (potentially) authentic luxury brands such as Guess, Prada, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and others is available to locals. You might even uncover unique boots, shoes, and sneakers from well-known labels like Nike, Puma, Balenciaga, Ellè, Nine West, etc. if you search hard enough. Shop at your own risk once more. Since some merchants might not even be able to distinguish between these products and imitations, we cannot guarantee that they are not.
After the ukay-ukay spree in Roxas Night Market, I went to the Bankerohan Public Market.
Fresh goods hunting in Bankerohan Public Market
Nestled in Davao City, Philippines, is the Bankerohan Public Market. For the city's citizens, it is the biggest and busiest market in the area and a key supplier of fresh produce as well as other commodities. Residents as well as travelers like visiting the market, which is open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
The market is split into various sections, each selling a distinct kind of merchandise. Fruits and vegetables, meat and fish, dry stuff, and apparel are all divided into divisions. The market is filled with food vendors and several restaurants.
This is the place to go if you want to see a wide selection of tropical fruits. However, since the price was a bit higher in the front area, be sure to venture further into the market. Try haggling; it's entertaining. Purchasing the heavenly durian, sugar-sweet pomelo, and the sweet and tangy flavor mangosteen at a discount was like winning the lotto. Don't forget to ask if you may taste a slice or a portion. Avoid purchasing fruits on the sidewalk; the quality of the fruits is not as good compared to that of the stall inside the market.
Activities at Bankerohan Public Market include the following:
- Purchase reasonably priced fresh produce and other goods.
- Discover the customs and gastronomy (local foods or cuisine) of the region.
- Make friends by meeting new folks.
- Acquaint yourself with Davao City's past and present.
- Take pictures of the market and its surroundings as a memento.
While in Davao City, visitors ought to swing by the Roxas Night Market and Bankerohan Marketplace at least once. Fortunately, it is open every night of the week; nevertheless, weekends are the best time to visit because there are more sellers.
There you have it, fellas. That is the best, most affordable, and freshest product available in our market night and day. I hope you like reading my post, which takes you to my hometown.

So colourful. This is called night market. Awesome collectionof fishes. Here also, fish is in great demand.
Indeed! Fruits, vegetables, and even fish are colorful and so are the apparel and bags.💞 Thanks for swinging by. 😊
Oh! Thats great
Yes, it is! God speed.🌷
Ito ba yong lugar na nabomba dati? Soon, if makauwi I will visit this place. Ang daming patinda.
Yung Roxas Night Market, Sis @olivia08 Ang nagkaron nun ng bombing. Kaya ipinasara salita at NG buksan ulit, mahigpit na security.
Okay, boulevard pala ito.. Ako sa panabo takot ako lumabas sa gabi.
Safe naman SA Davao City dahil mahigpit sila dahil ayaw NG maulit Ang nangyaring yun.
Totoo, nasanay na ako na di umaalis . Pinipilit nalang nila ako talaga.
Kapag nasa Pilipinas ka Sis, enjoy your time with your family. Minsan ka lang nilang nakakasama.
season na po ba ng durian?
Kahit Hindi season may durian Kasi Hindi say ganun samurai at kasarap unlike kapag may Kadayawan 🌷
Those skewers stuff looks tempting. Are the squids typically fresh?
Oh, yes! 💞 Those stuffed squids are fresh when marinated to add flavor to the food. Our City highly recommends the vendors observe cleanliness and they are monitored by the City Government Officials from time to time to ensure the health of the consumers. Thanks for swinging by @macchiata.🌷
Send mangosteen to Cebu with a low delivery fee. Hehehe
Hahaha...not that easy my dear @fixyetbroken. I have to get a certificate from the Quarantine Office before transporting the goods to your place.
That's how difficult to transport nowadays. I thought you could easily deliver the fruits if you have relatives.
My relatives are now living in the USA. I have no one to ask to take the fruits to you.☹️
It's good to hear, but sad to me. Hehehe
😊 Thanks. God speed.💞
Welcome.
Take care.🌷
Same to you. 😊
👍
Ang saya saya naman ng market ninyo po. Gusto ko Yong durian! Ang mahal mahal dito sa amin Nyan.
Kapag hindi Kadayawan ir Araw NG Davao or not in season, pricey talaga ang Durian @aideleijoie. Hehehe..di NGA long Ako kumakaun NG Durian 😊
Pag not in season ano, sabagay same goes with all the fruits naman din Pag not in season pricey tlaga sila.
Sayang ang sarap ng durian ate at ang bango bango pa!😍😍
They say, it smells like hell but tastes like heaven. Kahit n siguro kumakain ako nyan, hindi rin pupuede. It's high on protein. Bawal sa akin.☹️
Bibo jud pirme ss Davao. What a crowd and street foods, I wanna come over. Hehe . I wanna come over pud kai mupalit anang stuffed toy for my little one. I’m wondering how many stuffed toys I can buy for 100 pesos? I went to Miniso and they sell quality and soft stuffed toy. Naa tingale ang ana nga quality diha. Hehe
I remember when I went there long time ago. I was really impatient with the traffic before we arrived at Davao city. Daku jud kaayu ang Davao. I thought that we arrived at the city when we were in Monkayo but layu pajud diay.
Is the Carmen Market with night street foods near at your place? We had a chance to drop there. It has many people but with food stalls that also sell a lot of street foods like barbecues, balut, beef etc.
Carmen is in Davao del Norte. We live in Davao City, the King City of the Southern Philippines. Layu ang Carmen ugh Monkayo sa amua. Tua sa Northern part ang Carmen ugh Monkayo. Ang City padulong sa Davao del Sur. You are right Davao is "daku "the largest in the South in area which is why it is now divided into six. Davao City, Davao del Sur, Davao del Norte, Davao de Oro, Davao Oriental, and Davao Occidental.
If you are looking for stuffed toys you can find them in Roxas Night Market at P20/toy. You can also enjoy visiting the ukay2x stalls, the gastronomic foods. You can buy fresh products like fruits and veggies, panga ugh belly ng tuna or yellow fin, Alimango, lambay Dai, kalami. Magtulo imung laway tapos makahangyu ka gyud. Friendly mga tao ayaw lng pagtinagalog kay basi maa-an kng garboza, dka pahangyuon 😀. Daghan ka mapalit diri maski mga fresh flowers or flowering plants. Pero nagkalata na tanan fresh products labi na gyud kung KADAYAWAN which we celebrate in August.
Don't worry when everything is settled by the grace of God will have a meetup with @antonette and @godlovermel25. Isama na natin si Sir @long888.
Thanks for swinging by! See you soon! 🌷😊
