Bitcoin Halving x Baron's Bounty

Hello everyone, welcome to my blog as I make my entry to this week's social media challenge. This week's challenge is themed, "Baron's Bounty". This is a special event the splinterlands team have put together to celebrate the bitcoin halving event. By the time this blog would be have been published, the bitcoin halving event would have already taken place. This is a very special event in the cryptocurrency world that is usually marked by a lot of changes. Of note, is the halving of mining rewards which has been cut down from about 6.5 to about 3.2 BTC.

This promotional event that has been put in place however, has already been in place before the actual date of the bitcoin halving. The Baron's Bounty started on the 16th of April of 2024 which is about 3-4 days before halving event which took place earlier today on the 20th of April, 2024. What's the Baron's Bounty all about?

Baron's Bounty is allowing players to purchase two new promotional limited edition cards. It is meant to run for a period of 15 days which would allow players to buy with $DEC and credits. However, with VOUCERS, the price is halved.

The two new cards that are on promotion are rebellion cards that will only be available for purchasing during this Baron event. After this event, you can only get it from other players if they are willing to sell to you. The two new cards players can get on promotion are the Baron Fyatt and the Henchling Enforcer.

Baron Fyatt is a legendary card while Henchling Enforcer is a rare card but both are dual element cards with halving abilities. The Baron Fyatt is dual element to fire and death but the Henchling Enforcer is dual element to water and life.

With the prices of these cards come a somewhat nice tribute to the bitcoin halving event. Baron Fyatt costs 31,250 / 31.25k DEC / Credits while Henchling Enforcer costs 3,125 / 3.125k DEC / Credits. Can you tell why this is interesting? This is because the halving reduces the mining reward for a block to 3.125. Do you see it? I'm sure you have.

You can also get the cards at a reduced price by burning VOUCHERS. With each VOUCHER token burnt, the cost reduces the by 50 DEC / Credits. However, this stops when you reach a maximum of about 50% VOUVHER discount.

_Prizes

There are some prizes to be won which include; 500 PLOT tokens 100 Alpha packs, 500 Untamed Packs, 20 Runi NFTs, 50 Essence Orb Packs, 250 Beta packs and 100 Azmare Dice Packs. You stand a chance in getting some of these prizes based on how many points you are able to accumulate. Per each purchase with DEC / Credits, you get 1 point. When you get up to 10000 points, you then have a chance in winning one of the prizes that have been listed.
