Crab noodle soup ( Bun Rieu cua) Review

Crab noodle soup ( Bun Rieu cua) is a famous delicious breakfast dish of the people of Hanoi city - Vietnam. Crab noodle soup is famous because it is a dish with an outstanding traditional flavor with an eye-catching yellow color, crab meat floating on the water, crispy yellow tofu pieces and hot fresh white vermicelli noodles. Made from simple ingredients such as rice noodles, broth, crab, tomatoes, and crab paste (rieu), bun rieu cua can be prepared in various ways, from the mild tanginess of tomatoes to the distinct flavor of crab paste and spices.

Particularly favored for breakfast due to its lightness, ease of digestion, and energy-giving properties, bun rieu cua combines the unique flavors of crab broth, the sweet and sour taste of tomatoes, the richness of crab paste, and the freshness of assorted herbs, creating a delightful and nutritious morning meal. Although it is a traditional vermicelli dish, not every restaurant can cook its standard flavor.

I ate at this crab noodle soup restaurant this morning and had a pretty ordinary experience. This restaurant sells all types of crab vermicelli including pork sausage crab vermicelli, beef crab vermicelli, grilled meat crab vermicelli, pork rind crab vermicelli, mixed crab vermicelli, etc. Prices range from 1.2 dollars to 1.8 dollars dollars for a full bowl served with raw vegetables and other spices.

  • About advantages:

The restaurant was clean, beautifully decorated, and spacious, with air conditioning. Each wall featured different nature-themed drawings, giving it the ambiance of a café rather than just a noodle shop. Since vermicelli can be quite hot, I always opted for restaurants with plenty of fans and air conditioning.

The bowl of vermicelli was generously filled. If a bowl like this were to be enjoyed in the heart of Hanoi, it would have cost twice as much. The vermicelli noodles were fresh, the sausages were crispy and sweet, and there was plenty of crab meat.

  • About Defect: The standard flavor of crab vermicelli typically had to have a beautiful orange color, but here the crab vermicelli only had a cloudy white color with a little tomato. Besides, a standard bowl of crab vermicelli usually had fried shallots on top, but this bowl had nothing. Tofu was usually thinly sliced and fried golden, but in this bowl, there was only one large piece of tofu.

Overall, the bowl of vermicelli wasn't bad to eat, but it wasn't the taste of crab vermicelli; it was more like a version of mixed vermicelli. For easy-going people, that noodle shop was quite delicious because it had many fillings and fresh ingredients, but it wasn't the taste of properly cooked crab vermicelli. In addition to crab vermicelli, this restaurant also sells crab and beef hotpot. Because this restaurant just opened a few days ago, there are still many shortcomings. I hope they will absorb customers' opinions to further improve the quality of food.
