MANCHESTER UNITED vs. BRIGHTON

MANCHESTER UNITED no la ha pasado bien en éstos últimos días. Por una parte, ha tenido un bipolar inicio de temporada, donde ha ganado los dos encuentros que ha jugado en Old Trafford, pero no ha podido ganar cuando ha salido de casa. Sus dos salidas han sido a Londres donde sólo marcaron una vez y recibieron cinco goles en contra. Eso los ha llevado a la segunda mitad de la tabla. Y por otro lado, siguen apareciendo más nombres del plantel vinculados a acusaciones de violencia contra mujeres. A Antony se le ha sumado más recientemente el de Sancho. Eso sigue mermando la lista de jugadores disponibles para reencontrarse con la victoria en éstas próximas semanas, donde también se inicia la competencia a nivel de continente. Varane y Mount son baja por lesiones. Y muchos también desearían que estuviera de baja Harry Maguire, quien sigue en el club sin dejar buen sabor de boca. ¿Estará listo Sofyan Amrabat para su debut en Old Trafford? ¿Veremos también el estreno de Hojlund en el Teatro de los Sueños?

BRIGHTON dio un golpe a la mesa en el encuentro que tuvo con las urracas. Las gaviotas defendieron su nido y vencieron al Newcastle 3-1, granjeandose su tercera victoria de la temporada, dejándolos temporalmente en el sexto puesto de la tabla de posiciones. Sólo ha perdido una vez, y fue ante los hammers. Pero lo más sobresaliente hasta ahora es su producción ofensiva: son el equipo más goleador luego de cuatro fechas, habiendo marcado una docena de goles, uno más que que el Tottenham y el mismísimo Manchester City. Uno de los principales responsables de esto es el joven Ferguson, quien ha marcado un tercio de esos goles. Y las buenas noticias no terminan: podríamos ver el estreno de Ansu Fati en éste mismo encuentro, quien ha llegado en calidad de préstamo desde España.

Los diablos rojos tienen un porcentaje de victoria en casa frente al Brighton de un 80%. Y las gaviotas sólo han podido ganar en Old Trafford una sola vez, que por cierto, fue la temporada pasada, donde Groẞ marcó dos y Mac Allister regaló un gol en contra. ¿Habrá autogol esta vez?

WEST HAM vs. MANCHESTER CITY

WEST HAM UNITED está llamando la atención por su arranque que pocos habían anticipado. Hasta ahora no ha perdido, y ha empatado una vez. Gracias a la última victoria como visitante, no solamente ha extendido su racha de victoria a tres, sino que se ha trepado a la cuarta plaza del campeonato. En estos cuatro compromisos ha podido permitir un gol en contra como máximo. ¿Quién está allí? El ex jugador de Chelsea: Kurt Zouma quien cuenta con el total apoyo de David Moyes en ésta altura del torneo. Un dato interesante es la cercanía que tiene Jesse Lingard con el plantel y específicamente, su entrenador. Actualmente no tiene contrato con ningún club, por lo que pudiera verse bien una alianza entre estos dos que ya se conocen y han trabajado juntos antes.

MANCHESTER CITY sigue haciendo lo que sabe hacer en las últimas temporadas: ganar. Su último encuentro en el Etihad dio cuenta del Fulham 5-1. Ha ganado sus cuatro compromisos con un diferencial de goles de +9, ubicándose como líder en solitario del torneo. Además, junto al Tottenham, es el único que ha podido lograr dejar invicta dos veces su portería. Guardiola ya está recuperado de su intervención quirúrgica y volverá a estar en el banquillo para éste encuentro luego de algunos días de ausencia. A pesar de eso, en los dos encuentros donde su staff lo sustituyó, no perdieron. El que no se ha ido y dijo que se quedará es Walker, quien renovó su contrato con el club y mucho tiene que ver el entrenador español.

Andy Madley impartirá la justicia en éste cotejo. La temporada pasada los dos duelos quedaron a favor de los ciudadanos, pero lo más preocupante es que los hammers no pudieron anotar en ninguno de los encuentros. Seguro que el local querrá que ésto cambie. Por cierto, ¿a quién apoyará Zabaleta en éste encuentro?

NEWCASTLE vs. BRENTFORD

NEWCASTLE es uno de los equipos a seguir éste año. Pero lamentablemente no está teniendo un buen inicio de temporada. En la última jornada materializó su tercera derrota en fila. Ya había perdido con el Manchester City, Liverpool y ahora el Brighton. Tratando de aprovechar la pausa por los compromisos internacionales, las urracas vuelven a jugar en casa buscando reconciliarse con la victoria. Wilson es quien ha seguido reconciliándose con los billetes, en vista de que recientemente firmó una renovación de su contrato. Es lo que se busca hacer con Schär, uno de los principales referentes que tiene la línea de defensa. Mientras tanto, el equipo espera que el niver de Bruno se recupere, se levante y muestre destellos de que la estrella del año pasado sigue aún allí. Con su selección nacional vio acción y participó en los goles. Por eso, el ambiente en general es optimista.

BRENTFORD está en el octavo puesto, gracias al empate que logró frente al Bournemouth en la última fecha. Aún no ha sido vencido, a pesar de que ya es el tercer empate de la temporada. Ha tenido una buena producción, promediando dos goles por partido, aunque recibe más de uno en contra. El plantel ha tenido que lidiar con que Ivan Toney sigue captando el interés de equipos más grandes, a pesar de que actualmente está cumpliendo una sanción que lo retira de partidos oficiales hasta el año que viene. Y precisamente es eso lo que brinda una oportunidad de oro para Neal Maupay quien vuelve al club al que perteneció unas temporadas atrás, comprometido a mostrar su mejor versión, a pesar de que ya han pasado algunos años.

La historia entre estos dos es corta. Pero El Newcastle aún no ha sido vencido por el Brentford en St James Park. Será el tercer duelo entre ellos donde han promediado en ese escenario unos 6 goles por partido. Los marcadores fueron 5-1 y 3-3. ¿Tendremos otra media docena de goles éste fin de semana?

SON HEUNG-MIN está sintiendo la presión de la era post-Kane. La Premier League en general lamenta la partida del astro inglés a tierras alemanas, pero el coreano ha sabido asumir el rol que le ha tocado y ayudar a llevar la bandera en el ataque. En el último partido logró tres goles en 71 minutos. Es cierto, son las únicas anotaciones que ha tenido en las cuatro titularidades que le han otorgado. Sin embargo, en la ejecución de juego sigue involucrándose con los demás y creando ocasiones. Será interesante la influencia que veamos en éste equipo, quien ha anotado la misma cantidad de goles que el Manchester City, y uno menos que el Brighton.
