La jornada 25 de la Premier League tiene doce encuentros, según su página oficial, y lo que más nos llama la atención son los posibles movimientos que tenga la tabla de posiciones en los dos primeros puestos. Manchester City jugará su partido pendiente frente al Brentford pero también el Liverpool adelantará su partido de la jornada que viene. Hablemos un poco de lo que esto implicaría para ambos. MANCHESTER CITY vs. CHELSEA

MANCHESTER CITY se frota las manos ante ésta oportunidad única de tomar por asalto la punta del campeonato. Sólo dos puntos lo separan del Liverpool, de modo que si gana todos los puntos de su doble jornada será el nuevo líder. Pero para eso deberá pasarle por encima al Chelsea, que los visita en el Etihad. Los ciudadanos pudieron ganar un trabado encuentro ante el Everton en la última jornada, que resolvió Haaland con par de goles y extendió su buena racha a seis victorias seguidas. El 12 de noviembre perdió la punta por segunda vez en el torneo y está decidido a recuperarla éste mes. Gvardiol y Grealish son las bajas confirmadas para éste encuentro. Esperamos que Guardiola apueste por un equipo rápido en vista de la juventud del rival.

CHELSEA sigue deambulando en la mitad de la tabla. Alugnos creen que está dando indicios de que por fin su motor arrancó. Ganó recientemente un derby de Londres ante el Crystal Palace 1-3, rompiendo la racha negativa de dos derrotas. Lo bueno es que siguen anotando goles, acumulando ocho partidos seguidos. Sin embargo, como visitante no le ha ido muy bien, en vista que tiene un diferencial de goles de -1 en ésta temporada. La línea defensiva seguirá resolviendose sin nombres como Badiashile, Fofana y James. Y a ésta lista de retornos sin fecha se le ha sumado Thiago Silva. ¿Aprovechará para su retiro? En los últimos encuentros hemos visto como Enzo está tomando cada vez más protagonismo y liderazgo en el medio campo. Y se espera mucho del joven Palmer para que pueda ayudar a los Blues a sumar en un complicado escenario.

En la jornada 12 ambos protagonizaron un duro encuentro que quedó en empate. Vimos ocho goles y jugadas intensas. Ahora bien, en el Etihad el Chelsea ha sufrido mucho. en los últimos ocho partidos no ha podido ganar. Apenas ha logrado un par de empates y el resto ha perdido ante el local. En 5 partidos ha quedado sin anotar goles, mostrando el dominio que tiene el Manchester City en su estadio. Eso sí, en los últimos cuatro la diferencia ha sido de un solo gol. Si los ciudadanos logran ganar éste partido parece que la pista está despejada para que puedan arrebatar los otros tres puntos frente al Brentford el martes.

BRENTFORD vs. LIVERPOOL

BRENTFORD también tendrá una doble jornada, y le tocó bailar con la más fea. Mas bien, le tocaron dos feas: el primero y el segundo de la tabla. Aún así están deseosos de arruinarles la fiesta a cualquiera de las dos (o a las dos) y tiene las herramientas para hacerlo. Recientemente pudo ganarle al Wolverhampton 0-2 rompiendo la racha de dos derrotas en fila para alejarse un poco de la zona de descenso. Hace poco anunciaron la contratación de Igor Thiago para la próxima jornada, donde esperan mantenerse en ésta liga. Una de las cosas que destacamos de ellos es la forma en la que diseñan y trabajan las jugadas con el balón parado, donde incluso el portero no es un simple espectador. ¿Cuánto valdrá ese pizarrón de Thomas Frank?

LIVERPOOL sigue pendiente de hacer lo que le corresponde luego de ese resbalón frente al Arsenal. Pudo ganar en Anfield ante el Burnley, y ahora tendrá que viajar a Londres para intentar volver a sumar tres puntos y pasarle la presión a su más cercano perseguidor. La mala noticia es que Alexander-Arnold es una baja confirmada para éste duelo. Tal vez Bradley tenga una nueva oportunidad para lucirse en un importante duelo, a menos que Robertson o Tsimikas jueguen a perfil cambiado. Salah parece estar disponible, pero veremos si salta al terreno de juego cauteloso en vista a las molestias musculares del mes pasado.

Las abejas no tienen miedo. En los últimos cuatro encuentros recibiendo a los reds no han perdido. Tienen dos victorias y dos empates, con nueve goles anotados y seis en contra. Sin embargo, Liverpool fue quien gano en la jornada 12. Indudablemente tendremos un buen partido. Ésto será el fin de semana. Y si el Manchester City llega a ganar su segundo partido el martes, el Liverpool tendrá una oportunidad del miercoles de volver a recuperar la punta ante el Luton, en ese partido que está adelantando de la jornada que viene. Mucha presión para los de Klopp.

TOTTENHAM vs. WOLVERHAMPTON

TOTTENHAM parece estar inmerso en su propio duelo personal con el Aston Villa para consagrarse en la cuarta plaza que los llevaría a competir a la Champions League. Aunque no es una diferencia tan alta, los cinco puntos que los separan del Arsenal parecen representar ese pequeño paso adelante que tienen esos tres equipos de arriba con relación a éstos dos. Agónicamente pudo ganar su último encuentro ante el Brighton en Londres, donde su capitan Son ingresó desde la banca. Le toca volver a ser anfitrión ésta vez donde aún no registra empates. Éste partido es importante para ellos en vista de lo cercano que están los villanos y tal vez tenga un sentimiento de revancha en vista de la derrota que sufrieron ante los lobos en esta temporada, donde le voltearon el encuentro en los minutos finales agregados con par de goles.

WOLVERHAMPTON pudo ganarle al Brentford en la última jornada, con marcador de 0-2. Actualmente está en la decimo primera posición, detrás del Chelsea. Ha sido un equipo consistente, luego de acumular cuatro derrotas en sus cinco primeros partidos, se ha resistido a volver a caer tan bajo en la tabla de posiciones. Desde octubre del año pasado ha alternado en la zona de la posición 10 a la 15 sin volver a perder más de dos partidos seguidos. La mala noticia es que Matheus Cunha ha tenido una lesión grave que lo apartará de los campos de juego por un tiempo. Y es una mala noticia no sólo para ellos, sino para todos los seguidores de la selección de Brasil, ya que algunos daban por sentado que recibiría su oportunidad para integrarla.

En los últimos cuatro encuentros en los que estos dos se han enfrentado y los spurs han sido el local han repartido dos victorias para cada uno. Sin embargo, en ésta campaña ya el Wolverhampton ganó en su estadio y buscarán volver a arruinarle la tarde a los de Londres.

EL JUGADOR

RASMUS HOJLUND está en racha. En los últimos cuatro encuentros del Manchester United ha podido anotar goles. Ha asistido en par de ocasiones y es la versión que la afición estaba esperando por ver. Dos goles con el pie derecho y tres con el pie izquierdo. Ahora alcanza una efectividad de tiros al arco del 50%, ya que ha disparado 26 veces y 13 han ido al arco. ¿Qué le serviría mucho? Tal vez tocar un poco más el balón, en vista de que en ocasiones pasa mucho tiempo sin llegarle y así es más difícil. Sin embargo, estamos viendo que quiere aprovechar todas y cada una de las oportunidades que se le presentan. Estaremos pendientes de este hombre.

MANCHESTER CITY vs. CHELSEA

MANCHESTER CITY is rubbing its hands together at this unique opportunity to take the championship lead by storm. Only two points separate them from Liverpool, so if they win all the points of their double-header, they will be the new leaders. But for that to happen, they will have to get past Chelsea, who visit them at the Etihad. The Citizens were able to win a tight game against Everton in the last matchday, which Haaland solved with a pair of goals to extend their winning streak to six straight victories. On November 12, they lost the lead for the second time in the tournament and are determined to regain it this month. Gvardiol and Grealish are the confirmed absentees for this match. We expect Guardiola to go for a fast team in view of the opponent's youth.

CHELSEA continues to wander in mid-table. Alugnos believe they are showing signs of finally getting their engine started. They recently won a London derby against Crystal Palace 1-3, breaking a two-game losing streak. The good thing is that they continue to score goals, racking up eight in a row. However, as visitors they have not fared very well, with a goal differential of -1 this season. The defensive line will continue to be without names like Badiashile, Fofana and James. And to this list of undated returnees, Thiago Silva has been added. Will he take advantage of his retirement? In recent matches we have seen how Enzo is taking more and more prominence and leadership in midfield. And much is expected from the young Palmer so that he can help the Blues to score in a complicated scenario.

On matchday 12, the two played out a tough encounter that ended in a draw. We saw eight goals and intense play. Now, at the Etihad Chelsea have struggled mightily. in the last eight games they have failed to win. They have barely managed a couple of draws and the rest they have lost to the home side. In 5 games they have gone scoreless, showing how dominant Manchester City are at their home stadium. Of course, in the last four the difference has been only one goal. If the Citizens can win this game it looks like a clear runway for them to take the other three points against Brentford on Tuesday.

BRENTFORD vs. LIVERPOOL

BRENTFORD also had a double-header, and had to dance with the ugly one. Actually, they got two ugly ones: the first and the second of the table. Yet they are eager to spoil the party for either (or both) and have the tools to do so. Recently they were able to beat Wolverhampton 0-2 breaking the streak of two defeats in a row to move a bit away from the relegation zone. They recently announced the signing of Igor Thiago for the next round, where they hope to stay in this league. One of the things we highlight about them is the way they design and work on set pieces, where even the goalkeeper is not just a spectator. How much will Thomas Frank's blackboard be worth?

LIVERPOOL is still waiting to do its part after that slip up against Arsenal. They were able to win at Anfield against Burnley, and now they will have to travel to London to try to get back to three points and put the pressure on their closest challengers. The bad news is that Alexander-Arnold is a confirmed absentee for this match. Maybe Bradley will get another chance to shine in an important duel, unless Robertson or Tsimikas play a changed profile. Salah appears to be available, but we'll see if he takes the field cautiously in light of last month's muscle discomfort.

The Bees have no fear. In the last four matches hosting the Reds they have not lost. They have two wins and two draws, with nine goals scored and six conceded. However, it was Liverpool who won on matchday 12. Undoubtedly we will have a good game. This will be at the weekend. And if Manchester City can win their second game on Tuesday, Liverpool will have a chance on Wednesday to regain the lead against Luton, in that game they are ahead of next week's fixture. A lot of pressure for Klopp's side.

TOTTENHAM vs. WOLVERHAMPTON

TOTTENHAM seems to be immersed in its own personal duel with Aston Villa for the fourth place that would take them to compete for the Champions League. Although it is not such a big gap, the five points that separate them from Arsenal seem to represent that small step forward that those three teams above them have in relation to these two. They were agonizingly able to win their last game against Brighton in London, where their captain Son came off the bench. It is their turn to host again this time where they have yet to record a draw. This game is important for them in view of how close the Villains are and maybe they have a feeling of revenge in view of the defeat they suffered against Wolves this season, where they turned the game around in the final minutes with a couple of goals.

WOLVERHAMPTON was able to beat Brentford in the last matchday, with a score of 0-2. They are currently in the eleventh position, behind Chelsea. They have been a consistent team, after accumulating four defeats in their first five games, and have resisted falling back down the table. Since October last year they have alternated between 10th and 15th place without losing more than two games in a row. The bad news is that Matheus Cunha has sustained a serious injury that will keep him off the field for a while. And it is bad news not only for them, but for all the fans of the Brazil national team, as some had taken it for granted that he would get his chance to join them.

In the last four meetings in which these two have faced each other and Spurs have been the home team, they have shared two victories each. However, Wolverhampton have already won at home this season and will be looking to spoil the Londoners' evening once again.

THE PLAYER

RASMUS HOJLUND is on a roll. In Manchester United's last four games he has been able to score goals. He has assisted on a couple of occasions and is the version the fans have been waiting to see. Two goals with his right foot and three with his left foot. He's now at 50% shot on goal effectiveness, as he's taken 26 shots and 13 have been on target. What would do him a lot of good? Maybe touching the ball a bit more, as sometimes he doesn't get to it for a long time and that makes it more difficult. However, we are seeing that he wants to take advantage of each and every opportunity that comes his way. We will keep an eye on this man.

This change will not only involve a result on the scoreboard, but overcoming the tension of being able to do what the fans are expecting and not missing opportunities.
