Wood Borer Beetle

Another group of fascinating insects, is the wood borer beetle or woodboring beetle, a kind of beetle that kills trees. Despite being classified as a wood destroyer, this beetle may offer something to look at, that is the appearance that attracted me so badly to take a couple of shots. I found this beetle in the local forest this afternoon, it was acting innocently on the twig which allowed me to have much time to take proper shots. Woodboring beetle belongs to the same family with the three most speciose beetles, they are longhorn beetles, bark beetles and weevils, and metallic flat-headed borers.
