Everyday for the thief one day for the owner…

Good day to you all my tutors and learners here on hive.

I remain this humble soul who is always ready to appreciate my existence on the surface, once we realize that staying alive is never by our power or might then we know that all we have to do in life is to thank God for his mercy and grace over us.

Life is so multidimensional that there are times when we just have to be ourselves and be grateful for who we are. We still have to keep on praying to the almighty never to lead us astray.

The best of humankind is the one with a good character, humble and respectful. With that, we can live a better life with our loved ones. But when one goes astray out of greediness or selfish acts, it will bring shame not only to the individual involved but to the family and generations in general.

Many things have been happening across the globe and we keep on hearing news of how brutal some people could be and how far some people can go just to ensure they have a good life for themselves. They never want to care about the consequences of their actions but all they want is their mission to be a success.

This would take me straight to the prompt for week 46 edition 3 on the hive learners community and the topic to be discussed is CRIME SCENE.

Everyone will surely have a story to tell in one way or the other. We must have experienced a crime scene, if not so brutal, we must have seen one. If that’s not the case then it must have happened to us or people around us, or we get to listen to stories about it from people.

I have heard a lot about people who indulged in crimes and most of the time get caught in the act. There is this Yoruba adage that says:

— “Every day for the thief and one day for the owner.”

It might sound like good luck to those who make other people cry just to get the good life they want. They might be having successful missions but verily there shall come a day when they would have to face the consequences of their actions.

I don’t pity them much because they know what they are into is not something they should be proud of. Many of these people are into criminal activities and are always secretive about it. Why? Because they also know that what they are involved in is not something good. Most times their immediate families are not always aware they are into such an act. It’s an evil act they will have to bear the burden all alone. So why do they have to keep doing it?

A crime scene I witnessed.

This was one of my days in the higher institution. I lived in the student area but still a residential area too. It’s a mix of both students and locals.

There was a day I was on my way to the mosque for prayers. I passed the same route I do pass while going to the mosque and there was nothing special happening. Though the street was a little silent, nothing special. Maybe because of the graduating class having their convocation ceremony that day.

After praying, I started hearing a lot of sounds coming from this same area. I was eager to check on what had happened to have caused a commotion in just a few minutes. When I got closer to the scene I saw a lot of people gathered around while they kept on beating a guy in the center.

I overheard a conversation that said he was a thief who jumped into a hostel when the students weren't around. He got into one of the rooms and stole a phone. He didn’t limit it to that, he went outside on the rope and packed some of the nice jeans and tops they spread out.

He was caught in the act and failed to confess his crime. He wanted to run away but got stuck while trying to jump the fence with barbed wires. He was captured and beaten by the street boys.

The painful part was that he was a student and handsome looking with his new haircut. But all those looks got damaged after receiving some merciless beating. His face got swollen and his lips were so heavy. He couldn’t say anything.

I knew the pain he must be feeling was regret for getting into such an action. And at that moment he must have wished to die instead of such pains he underwent and the shame he passed through. All the children in the street came out and started singing songs after him while the street guys escorted him with heavy sticks on his body.

I couldn’t do anything but watch and learn my lesson from the occurrence life showed me at that moment.

Morals.

All that glitters is not gold.

We don’t have to compare ourselves with others without knowing what they are up to. Avoiding unnecessary competition and being contentious is the best thing to give our existence.
Before he got caught in the act, he must have been a rockstar everyone would love to be like. His handsome look and fresh skin, his up-to-date wears, and rock shoes. Who would have known he was a burglar who made other people cry to have a good life? I learned to be myself and remain content.

It is just so pathetic that human beings can be so wicked to some extend. You title alone is a great message to everyone. No matter how far you have gone away with crimes one day, you will definitely be caught.

I feel sorry for that student, but why would he do a thing like that? How much will that phone even cost if he should sell it? And for the clothes what will he do with them? Isn't his life more precious than all those things? It was just God that wanted to deal with him if not how can one explain being caught by Barb wires? Most times we suffer because we are not patient enough.

Thanks For sharing this with us

If asked it might be his first time doing such. But once caught no pity. That’s why it’s best not to even get close.
God want him caught is the reason. Thanks for stopping by

He was very lucky that he wasn't caught by some crazy set of humans who would have gone ahead and burnt him alive. That's how they go about stealing people's phones and clothes, in the end they use it to intimidate others and pretend like they bought those things with their money

Sometimes when they are caught I feel pity for them, but they don't pity us when they do theirs.

That’s the real deal. They get blinded by their missions without pity
