God bless my teachers 👩‍🏫.

Good day to you all my tutors and learners here on hive.

I remain this humble soul who is always ready to appreciate my existence on the surface, once we realize that staying alive is never by our power or might then we know that all we have to do in life is to thank God for his mercy and grace over us.

I see this life like a river that keeps flowing, and we humans are the water making the river flow, so as humans, we shouldn’t look down on anyone or even belittle anyone just because of the condition we found ourselves in today. You might be at the top today and someone else will take over the next day.

Just as the river flows and meets at the estuary, we humans are also the same, we might keep up with the flow, many might dry up along the way, some get fetched away from the water body, and some will surely meet at some point again.

One of the most amazing jobs is teaching, it's not easy to be a teacher. I was taught and I have taught some people too. I believe whatever position we are in today we should remain grateful to those that impacted some knowledge on us in one way or the other. They contributed to who we are today.

There was a scenario I witnessed when I was an undergraduate. I was in the lab while they were conducting an exam for the Sasakawa per-time students. These are students that are also working somewhere else and needed to bag a certificate. The exam was invigilated by some set of Master's students in the same department.

The exams went smoothly. At the end of the exam, the lead invigilator who has a doctorate stood up to the podium and made some announcements.

He said: Life is like a circle, no matter the position you find yourself in today, use it well. He added that he will be introducing someone to the public and he called on the person's name. After the person came to join him on the podium, he said, this man standing before you today has been my teacher throughout my secondary school. He is a great teacher and impacted a lot in my life. He had conducted exams for me and supervised my academics over years.

But today, after years, he is sitting down as a student writing an exam while his student back then is supervising that teacher.

He added; table turns, no one knows what tomorrow has for us. Back then his teacher would never imagine himself being invigilated by one of his students. So if he had wronged him back then it's just a perfect time to pay back. And now he is paying back a little of the good deed his teacher impacted by making him known to the public as one of his best teachers and he is so proud of him.

This would take me straight to the prompt for **week 53 edition 2 ** on the hive learners community and the topic to be discussed is TEACHERS GRADING.

I can’t mention all the teacher that has impacted my life in one way or the other, some gave good advice, some added to my knowledge, and some gave discipline and I respect them all.

Mr. Idowu
🫡🫡

My Idowu was an English teacher at my school then. I was in junior secondary school and my brother was in senior secondary school. He was their English teacher then. He only came around to take us whenever our English teacher was absent from school. I love his teaching method.

When someone knows what he is teaching, he gets those vibes as a teacher, carrying students along with jokes and lessons. Despite his joking way no one dared to mess up in his class.

Mr. Idowu must have studied my performance compared to that of my elder brother. I am that playful student and the playfulness must be affecting my academics in one way or the other. Compared to my brother who is calm and even more focused 😂.

One day Mr. Idowu called me to his desk, my dress was rough already, and I knew I deserved to be caned for that. I was scared at first, but when he approached me with his speech. He spoke some sense into my head. He asked me to look at my brother, can anyone say we are siblings? 😆. I answered NO. Then he advised me to take my brother as a model and reduce my playful ways.

He said if I should get a little serious there will be a lot of changes in my academics. His words touched my heart and I pondered about it. I changed and reduced my playful ways and focused more on my academics. With time I realized I began to be one of the best students in the class.

If I should see Mr. Idowu today I will be so happy to meet him. I know I can't do much to repay him. But hopefully, I want him to know his words had an impact on my life. So I am grading Mr. Idowu on a scale of 8/10.

I can't say I have the worst teacher because to me they tried their best. Those I thought were the worst teachers then because they beat a lot, I finally came to realize that they were even among the best because all they wanted for us back then was to become a better version of ourselves. I appreciate them all.

Thanks for reading

Omo, I just so much love reading your articles they always convey solid messages.

Indeed in life we should never demean anyone. I love the metaphor you used, the river , ofcourse the river flows but itself doesn't know where it will end. We can never tell where we will be tomorrow, you are at the top today doesn't mean you will remain there forever and if you are the bottom you can be at the top tomorrow. That person you see as nothing today can be your destiny helper tomorrow. Life is truly a circle and only those who under the mystery will end it well.
