Proudly an Agriculturist.

My Naija people!! How una dey!

Nigeria is in a messy stage at the moment, we the citizens keep our blames on the government, and the government also aren’t ready to render their support. We are all deeply affected by our selfishness and greedy acts. Only a few are ready to make the country a better place, and these few are so overpowered that you can't even get to see the results of their deeds.

Many times when I hear youths Japa out of the country, I don't blame anyone, because I realized they actually did what's best for them. A country that isn’t ready to see the talent in its citizens might have to pay to receive such a talent in the end. It just like not valuing something, the moment you realize it’s worth is when you lose it.

There are times when I got the news about residential doctors having a strike, the strike went on for months. I couldn’t even imagine doctors of all professions getting into strike. This was a close experience with my brother on the sick bed, only God saved him. The day he had his surgery, the next day was when the doctors went on strike. That was crazy. How many lives must have been lost due to that strike.

Nigeria is blessed, and I can say we are one of the best countries in the world. Only if we decide to make use of what we have, to the right people at the right time. Not just some sort of corruption and embezzlement right.

As an individual and a citizen of the country, I have learned that even when you study in the university, you are not even guaranteed to get a good job when you're done from school. I wonder how my life would be? When I get to see many graduates that are before us yet to have a good job.

It is said that having a certificate is just like having yourself prepared for any opportunity that comes your way. Which shouldn’t be like that. With that I have decided to think about ways of becoming independent and also keep to my hustle.

There are a lot of businesses out there that can be done by a graduate, but where is the capital to start up? And even who is ready to help you grow the business? This is why a lot of people find it difficult to stand on their own. It's not easy.

So with time I realized I could even build in my interest of becoming an agriculturist. There were times when I kept aiming to start big. But I realized even starting small is not a bad idea. I won't have to learn the hard way. From there I gradually set up a small scale farming where I rare African catfish.

With this, I began to realize that apart from feeding the community with my fish, I also realized that some other way I could support my immediate community was giving out water for them to use. Water is so essential in our life. So anyone that comes for water is free to fetch. This is just the little way I could say I am giving out to my immediate community. I believe with time I would also get to grow better as time goes by.

Free water 😁
That's a good one, I guess you have your own borehole and is the area a place where people buy water usually?

Anyways, you are doing your country good in your own way and that is a plus.

Yeah there is a borehole for the farm activities. And since we pump almost everyday then people are free to get.

Many people in the society don’t give out even when they have water. We were once in those situations before.

Sometimes all you need to do is to start small. My mentor once told me that I don’t need so many people to start something, I just need to start and the right people will find me.

You inspire me a lot. Keep up the good work.

Your mentor said it well. Not everyone is destined to start big. But becoming great is actually the goal. Gradually gradually.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. Well appreciated
