A piece of advice for life - LOH contest week #263 / Un consejo para la vida - concurso LOH semana #263 (eng-esp)

Hello, my friends.

When I saw the question that @trucklife-family left us this week (#263), the first thing that came to mind was that they be good people. That's what I look for in friends, coworkers, and life partners. I don't care about their tastes, their political or religious leanings, or whether they're artists or not. What I look for is that they're good people.

But @elviguitarra already said that, so I'm not going to repeat everything she so aptly put it. So I'll go with another excellent piece of advice: Respect everyone, starting with respecting yourself.

The former Mexican president Benito Juárez once said, and I quote: "Among individuals, as among nations, respect for the rights of others is peace."

There is no way we can get along with others, that is, live in society, if we do not respect others, their right to be respected: respecting their decisions, their human rights, their way of thinking and doing things, whatever makes them different, etc. Because if we do not respect this, what guarantees do we have that others will respect ours?

What will happen then? Well, we have already seen it and are seeing it in all the wars that have happened and are happening right now. And that is on a macro level. However, every war begins with one person who has not respected the rights of another. There is no peace without respect.

But to respect others and expect that respect in return, you must begin by respecting yourself first. Respect your moral and ethical principles, because if you don't respect yourself, no one else will; no one will be able to like or love you. Everyone will turn their back on you.

Respect is fundamental for maintaining essential human values, for living in society, and therefore, for being a good person.

That would be my advice to them and to everyone in general.

Hola, amigas mías.

Cuando vi la pregunta que @trucklife-family nos dejó esta semana #263, lo primero que me viene a la mente es que sean buenas personas. Eso es lo que yo busco en amigos y compañeros de trabajo y de la vida. No me importan cuáles sean sus gustos, su inclinación política, religiosa o si son artistas o no. Lo que busco es que sean buenas personas.

Pero ya eso lo dijo @elviguitarra, así que no voy a repetir todo lo que ella bien dijo con anterioridad. De modo que iré por otro excelente consejo: Respeta a todas las personas, comenzando por respetarte a ti mismo.
El antiguo presidente mexicano Benito Juárez dijo una vez, y cito: Entre los individuos, como entre las naciones, el respeto al derecho ajeno es la paz.
No hay manera en que podamos llevarnos bien con otros, o sea, vivir en sociedad si no respetamos a los demás, a su derecho a ser respetados: respetar sus decisiones, sus derechos humanos, su forma de pensar y hacer las cosas, lo que sea que los haga diferente, etc. Porque si no respetamos esto, ¿qué nos garantiza que los demás respetarán los nuestros?

¿Qué sucederá entonces? Bueno, ya lo hemos visto y lo estamos viendo en todas las guerras que han sucedido y ocurren en estos momentos. Y eso es a nivel macro. Sin embargo, toda guerra comienza por una persona que no ha respetado los derechos de otra.No hay paz sin respeto.
Pero para respetar a los demás y esperar ese respeto hacia tu persona, debes comenzar por respetarte a ti mismo primero. Respeta tus principios morales y éticos, ya que si tú mismo no te respetas, nadie lo hará por ti, nadie podrá ni quererte ni amarte tampoco. Todos te darán la espalda.

El respeto es fundamental para el mantenimiento de los valores humanos esenciales, para poder vivir en sociedad y, por tanto, para poder ser una persona de bien.
Ese sería mi consejo para ellos y para todos en general.
