Visita al Museo provincial Vicente García

Today we will continue a journey in time and space.

A while ago I told you about the clock exhibition at the Vicente García Provincial Museum, but I was not able to visit the rest of the rooms, since that day, it was closed to the public.

Today I came back and it was open, so I took the opportunity to visit it and show it to the world.
It's incredible the way they create micro niches of history in each room.

Today I had the good fortune to have the scoop of the future exhibition of personal items of the baseball player from Las Tunas, Danel Castro. Known as the Hit Man, for accumulating more than 2000 hits in his career.
In the room there are several trophies, awards and medals that the athlete obtained during his sports career.

In the fixed rooms, I found that they are organized in chronological order. The first one is about objects from the aborigines who lived in the areas of Las Tunas.

This image shows the main aboriginal settlements during the Spanish colonial period.

The next room is filled with objects from the 19th century, especially from some of the heroes of the Cuban mambi revolution, such as Vicente García, Manuel Nápoles Fajardo, Salvador Cisneros Betancourt and the poets Juan Cristóbal Nápoles Fajardo and Tomasa Varona, of whom they are presenting a book of hand-written poetry. The good state of preservation of the book is incredible.

Can You can see the shackles they used to tie up the slaves. There is a copy of the accounting book of the Chaparra Sugar Company, among other documents and objects of the time.

I was even able to see one of the presses that were used to print those newspapers and books that were published at that time, such as El Hórmigo.

In the next room we find belongings of personalities from Las Tunas, from politicians, to one of the main poets writers of Las Tunas, considered a poet of the 20th century in the province, Gilberto E. Rodríguez.

It is not a historical object, but this banner with photographs of some of the main figures of the tunas, specifically of the tunera culture, such as Blanca Becerra Emiliano Salvador, Barbarito Diez and Guillermo Vidal, among others, is interesting.

We can see this of Gilberto's desk and typewriter where he wrote his texts.

The natural sciences room transported me to a completely different universe.

Seeing myself in front of the skeleton of a baby whale is a sensation that I think you only experience once in your life. It is impressive to realize that this skeleton, more than 4 m long and almost a ton in weight, is that of a baby whale.

Of course, the crocodiles are also impressive. They don't look like they're stuffed, but rather look like they're going to move at any moment and try to bite you.

In the windows and other installations you can find part of the fauna that inhabits this province; whether it is native or migratory fauna.

And not only that, we also find seeds and precious stones brought from other parts of the world.

Without a doubt, for me, who am an animal sensor, this is my favorite room.

The last room today is the Decorative Arts room. Unfortunately, they are not pieces that are strictly from the province. The museologist explained to me that at the time when this building was built there were no people wealthy enough to buy these objects that are from the 19th and early 20th centuries.
However, it is an example of furniture, tableware and ornaments from that period.
Here we can see Chinese straws, Italian toys, the carpentry is neoclassical in style and the original wood is perfectly preserved.

Some of the figurines and ornaments are French.

It is art and beauty in its purest form.

Finally, here I show you a view of the museum at night. The blue light certainly gives it a beautiful view.

Hoy continuaremos un viaje en tiempo y espacio.

Hace un tiempo les hablé de la exposición de relojes en el Museo Provincial Vicente García, pero no pude visitar el resto de las salas, ya que aquel día, estaba cerrado al público.

Hoy regresé y estaba abierto, de modo que aproveché para visitarlo y mostrárselo al mundo.
Es increíble la forma de crear micro nichos de historia en cada sala.

Hoy tuve la buena suerte de tener la primicia de la futura exposición de objetos personales del pelotero tunero Danel Castro. Conocido por el Hombre Hit, por acumular más de 2000 imparables en su carrera.
En la sala se muestran varios trofeos reconocimientos y medallas que el deportista obtuvo durante su carrera deportiva.

En las salas fijas, encontré que están organizadas en orden cronológico. La primera de ella se trata sobre objetos de a los aborígenes que vivían en las zonas de las Tunas.

En esta imagen se muestran los principales asentamientos aborígenes durante la época de la colonia española.

La siguiente sala alberca de objetos del siglo 19 sobre todo de algunos de Los héroes de la revolución cubana de los mambises como Vicente García, Manuel Nápoles Fajardo, Salvador Cisneros Betancourt y los poetas Juan Cristóbal Nápoles Fajardo y Tomasa Varona, de quien presentan un libro de poesía escrito a mano. Es increíble el buen estado de conservación del libro.

Podemos ver los grilletes que utilizaban para amarrar a los esclavos hay una copia del libro de contabilidad del Chaparra sugar company, entre otros documentos y objetos de la época.

Incluso, pude contemplar una de las prensas que se utilizaban para imprimir aquellos periódicos y libros que se publicaron en esa época como es el caso del Hórmigo.

En la sala siguiente encontramos pertenencias de personalidades personas de la Las Tunas, desde políticos, hasta uno de los principales poetas escritores de las tunas es considerado poeta del siglo XX en la provincia Gilberto E. Rodríguez.

No es un objeto histórico, pero sí interesante esta pancarta con fotografías de algunas de las principales figuras de las tunas, específicamente de la cultura tunera, como lo son Blanca Becerra Emiliano Salvador, Barbarito Diez y Guillermo Vidal, entre otros.

De Gilberto podemos ver este que fue su buró y máquina de escribir donde escribió sus textos.

La sala de ciencias naturales me transportó a otro universo completamente diferente.

Verme frente al esqueleto de un ballenato es una sensación que solamente se experimenta creo que una vez en la vida. Es impresionante darse cuenta que ese esqueleto de más de 4 m de largo y casi una tonelada de peso es de una ballena bebé.

Por supuesto los cocodrilos también impresionan no parecen estar disecados sino que parecen que en cualquier momento se van a mover y van a intentar morderte.

En las vidrieras y demás instalaciones se encuentran parte de la fauna que habita esta provincia; ya sea la fauna autóctona o la migratoria.

Y no solo eso también encontramos semillas y piedras preciosas traídas de otras partes del mundo.

Sin duda alguna para mí que soy un sensor de los animales esta es mi sala preferida.

La última sala de hoy es la de Artes decorativas. Lamentablemente no son piezas netamente de la provincia. Me explícala museóloga que en esa época en que se construyó este edificio no había personas lo suficientemente acaudaladas para comprar estos objetos que son del siglo 19 e inicios del 20.
Sin embargo es una muestra de mobiliario la vajilla y los adornos de la época.
Aquí podemos ver pajillas chinas juguetería italiana la carpintería es de estilo neoclásico y la madera original perfectamente conservada.

Algunas de las las estatuillas y adornos son franceses.

Es arte y belleza en estado puro.

Finalmente, aquí les muestro una vista del museo de noche. Sin duda la luz azul le da una hermosa vista.
