Working On A Hive Jacket,Finally!!!

Ugghhhh!! I am so excited and frustrated at the same time. I wanted to come here with a surprise but it’s taking longer than I expected.
I’ve been wanting to do patchwork for the longest time. The problem with crocheting is that if you go yarn shopping with calculations, you will end up buying lesser yarn and if you go without calculations, you will buy more yarns. I feel like it’s way better to buy more yarns than to buy lesser yarns.

I made the hive coaster the other time and I really liked it so I decided to just make a hive jacket.
I’m currently almost out of yarns and very frustrated. I don’t even know what to do but I know I’ll figure it out so don’t worry about me. I’m genuinely excited for this jacket but I’m getting mixed feelings too so I came here for suggestions. I’m not sure if the jacket is coming out pretty. That’s a problem with crocheters.

Most of us are perfectionists so we end up not even seeing the “niceness” in things we do ourselves. I am doing this in size 6 first so that if I like the outcome, I do a bigger one or I might just change my mind anytime.
I have a whole colour and square chart that I’m using to make the jacket and I’m out of the main the colour- olive. Which is kind of frustrating to me because I had to hunt for yarns for a long time before getting it.

I am so in need of yarns of peculiar colours that I could literally do anything to get them at this point. Very desperate. I am supposed to make about 62 squares- 5 by 5 inches squares.
I’m not even half way there yet. I genuinely feel lost with this but as I said, I will figure this out so don’t worry about me. Everything about the crocheting is going on well, just left with the yarn.

Maybe henceforth, if anyone asks me what I want for my birthday , I’ll need to say yarns and hooks because I don’t know why yarns are becoming hard to get here in Ghana.
Anyway, do you like how it’s going? Or you have any suggestions to add to it. Let me know what you think before I continue working on it.

You definitely need more yarns in your life. I totally understand the thing with perfectionists and while we try to see the beautiful creations that they have done, all they see is their own shortcoming.
Madam finish this up let's see my friend 😀

Yay for sure! I love this project and that you used many squares to make something more complicated. This is the kind of project I could do with the yarn I have. Right now I have a small basket with a bit of a lot of different types of yarn. The pictures of you holding all of the finished squares and the color combination you chose are really pretty! Your post always inspire me and I appreciate how much you share here on HIVE!

I have a suggestion for a future post, maybe you could talk about where and how you get yarn in Ghana. Where and how yarn is made there too!

I can already see the sweater forming, I love that you are creating something unique, with the different colour patches, it's time you get married to that Nigerian brother disturbing you because we can never lack yarn here lol, I can't wait to see you rock this sweater.

It is very beautiful what you are doing, do you want to make it all woven? my suggestion is that you include some fabric of a color to give it a different and original touch, this is a humble suggestion, idea that I got look:

Está muy hermoso lo que estás haciendo, ¿Quieres hacerla toda tejida? mi sugerencia es que le incluyas algo de tela de un color para darle un toque diferente y original, esto es una humilde sugerencia, idea que conseguí mira:

I don't know how to knit, but I do know someone who does know and makes nice things her name is @tibaire she can advise you much better.🤗

No sé tejer, pero si sé de alguien que si sabe y hace cosas lindas se llama @tibaire ella te puede aconsejar mucho mejor.🤗

Aw, you are working on the jacket I can't wait for you to finish it. It looks beautiful already.

Buy in excess is better.

I'm currently making two outfits for a client and the fabric she brought is not enough, now she is begging me to manage that she cannot get the fabric again. I'm halfway through cutting and I'm Wondering how the hell I'm going to complete the cloth without getting another material, am I a magician?

Dear friend, what an incredible job and how much patience. Just as you say, getting colors and combining them is a big job, I understand your frustration, but come on! I know your crochet mind will solve it somehow, you will adapt and you will surprise us with the final result! I love how you are doing, these patchwork style works are very difficult for me, haha I send you a big hug and I wish you a good week!

Knitting needs a lot of patience, precision and creativity. A job well done. It looks like it is coming on well, sorry about the yarn finishing before you are done. You could use another color that blends with the rest around the edges or at the back. Would love to see the outcome.💕✨

This is really awesome. Well, I don't have an idea about yarns or how to work on it but be rest assured, this is mind blowing.

Hello, don't get impatient even if you don't stop actively working on this project. The colours are very pretty. I really like the olive colour.

Weaver and dreemer, this design is very very cute and with the Hive logo. 😄
