There is a large Spanish speaking community here on Hive, but for those who aren't fluent, the title and text in the image below means 'kiss me in this corner'.
And so I had to ask :)
Prior to the kiss, we had lunch under the end sombrilla pictured below in the rather toasty town of Setenil de Las Bodegas. The temperature, sponsored by Apple, was around 38 degrees and with little wind, shelter from the sun is a must.
A fair amount of the towns buildings are built into the surrounding cliffs, and judging by my trip inside to use the toilet, these buildings provide an ideal escape from the heat, and presumably are not too cold during the winter months.
Later that afternoon, we continued our travels to the the small town of Zahara de la Sierra where the photos below were taken.
At the top of the mountain (which looks further than the 20 minute walk from where the photo below was taken) is a small castle which is free to access and lacks any safety features at all.
The view show in the photo below coming with the bonus feature of an awesome wind tunnel to help cool off.
And to finish, a boat-trip selfie on the way to Cadiz. Masks are again compulsory when outdoors in Spain, but once seated at a bar (inside or out), masks can be removed.
Personally I think this is a little backwards - surely there is more distance to be found walking in the street than inside a bar, but people seem to just go along with what they are told without any fuss.
I'm really enjoying my break from the Furlough settee at home, and hopefully the cushion will have recovered some of it's shape without my arse there for a couple of weeks.
In other (Hive) news, I have just sent a memo to @reward.app with '10' in the message and set the same account to be the 100% beneficiary of this post. This means that 10% of the author rewards will be shared out to the curators.
Although some disagree (thanks!), I do feel that my posts are over-rewarded at times and this seems like a good way to counter that :)

And yes, no masks in bars is super backwards, I believe inside bars most infections will be taking place, especially when it's going to get colder and doors will be closed more and more in autumn. Ouch! But enjoy the outside as much as you can, we'll need a buffer of memories for later this year :-)

Yeah, it was totally weird to have the first Spain post have more pending rewards than the EL post - I think I'll use reward.app for posts like these where the time taken (excluding travel/photos) is less.
Strange seeing these buildings as 'posh caves' but I think they'll be around longer than most structures - more chance of dying from heatstroke than rocks I reckon!

It was interesting seeing the "Cave Houses", in a thousand years, unless hit with a nuke they will still be there. The outsides may be rubble, but the archaeologist of the future will wonder like the current ones do with the Navajo Cave dwellings in Arizona, what were they for.
Loved the pictures, be careful of the heat, and continue to enjoy the vacation.
I'm sure they will be around for a long long time yet - practical and study.

lovely post and awesome descriptions. i loved how you used the photos. seems spain is handling the pandemic well. Here in Nigeria, It has been difficult getting people to comply so we have been having more cases.

I THOUGHT that plaza looked familiar. I got a bee sting there about 15 years ago, when I lived in Spain. I visited Cadiz and had a little bocadillo in that same spot. I was listening to some beautiful flamenco music someone was playing nearby, I started lightly clapping my hands to the rhythm, and a bee had got stuck in between my fingers when I started clapping. It stung me good. My entire finger and hand swelled up for a few days.
A very memorable town, that Cadiz. I'll see if I can find the picture and send it to you.
Your posts are not over rewarded. They are honest and go to prove that the good guys do sometimes win. Blogs and communities like this, for me anyway, should be primarily about people and their stories. The internet is full of information and learning posts but these sort of personal posts are unique to the writer and if they are only posted on Hive, unique to Hive.
