The Struggle Between Money and Happiness
Hello to all hive users 🤗❤️🙏
Hope you all are healthy and doing great in your life🙂
Money is an absolute necessity in today's world—something without which nothing is possible. Without money, you cannot even afford a single meal; indeed, let alone food, you cannot even buy yourself a drink. The struggles and hardships that a person endures throughout their life are all undertaken for the sake of earning money—to generate an income that allows them to fulfill their hobbies or satisfy their basic desires. Today, there are many people in the world who are unable to earn money; consequently, such individuals become dependent on others. Since they cannot earn on their own, they are unable to fulfill their personal desires independently. Many people associate money with happiness, holding the belief that happiness stems directly from wealth. However, I feel that this notion has two distinct facets.

Let us now examine both of these aspects, one by one. Given the extent to which money has become an indispensable necessity in our lives today, it would appear that an individual can indeed purchase happiness through financial means. Consider this: if a person possesses money today, they can afford good food, send their children to quality schools, wear fine clothes, travel in a nice car, and fulfill their various desires. For a person who is able to fulfill their desires, this constitutes a form of happiness in life; after all, without money, these desires might never have been realized—and if one's desires remain unfulfilled, how can one possibly find happiness in life? Compare such individuals with those who lack even the means to afford two square meals a day—people who, even if they manage to eat one day, have no guarantee that they will be able to eat the next. When compared to such people, those who are able to satisfy their basic needs and pursue their hobbies are undoubtedly happier. It is in this context that the true significance of money becomes apparent; it reveals just how vital money is—for, even if indirectly, it serves as a provider of happiness for human beings.
Money provides us with conveniences, and through these conveniences, an individual can find happiness in life. In today's world, you can essentially purchase every comfort of life with money and avail yourself of numerous amenities. Just consider this: one person might struggle endlessly—running from pillar to post—to receive medical treatment at a hospital, only to find that they still do not receive proper care; whereas another individual, who possesses financial means, can undergo treatment at a reputable hospital. This distinction matters significantly; for no matter how much one might argue otherwise, it is precisely these seemingly small details that make a profound difference.
Let us consider the other side of the coin—the perspective in which we view money merely as a means to an end. Possessing at least some money is certainly essential, and having an abundance of it is undoubtedly a good thing; however, alongside financial wealth, it is equally crucial to be mentally and emotionally content. We have encountered many individuals who are immensely wealthy yet harbor a deep sense of inner loneliness, often because the very things that would bring them happiness are precisely what they lack. There are wealthy individuals who earn vast sums of money but experience such profound isolation in their lives that they lose the very desire to spend it; consequently, such people remain unhappy deep down. While money is indeed necessary, it is equally vital to ensure that you possess the things that truly bring you joy. For some, happiness stems from relationships; yet, their loved ones may not be physically present, or their interpersonal bonds may be strained—and they face various other such difficulties.

Ultimately, the conclusion is that balance is absolutely essential in a human being's life. One should neither possess so little money that one is unable to fulfill even basic necessities, nor possess so much that one cannot find the time for relationships. After all, the true source of happiness for individuals lies in their loved ones—their family and friends. If a person lacks good relationships with these very people—no matter how wealthy they may be—they are bound to experience profound loneliness in their life and remain unhappy deep down. Therefore, striking a balance between the two is of utmost importance.
