Maybe this does not occur in your own culture but in Nigeria, it is survival of the fittest.

Something happened to me today and I will like to know whether such thing occur in your own country or vicinity as well.

I am currently in a state where I am doing my compulsory one year national youth service. Part of the programme is a 3weeks orientation camp where Corp members will be orientated about the modus operandi of NYSC through some structured programmes that has been scheduled and approved.

The last batch fog the year are currently in camp and they are in the second week now meaning they will be leaving camp soon.

During this period is their Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurial Development which is popularly called SAED. The programme was put in place to equip Corp members with different skills that can make them to be self reliant.

This is an applaudable programme and I am a witness to that but the programme was not my major concern but what happened while going to camp.

After my session, I called a friend of mine who is serving very close to the orientation camp. We have been away from each other for a long period of time and we decided that we are going to hangout today after my session.

He gave me the description and I stopped a bike but what amazed me was that the bike man negotiated price with me and took me to another place entirely because he sensed that I did not know the place due to how I called the name.

He just took the money from me and made me to pay more for another bike to take me to the same position where the first one picked me and also another payment to get to where I am going.

This is not the first time this will be happening to me.

The first time was when I was going for my own orientation camp. We got to the pack late in the night and because we did not know where we are going and they knew that we are new in town adding the fact that it was late in the night, where we are suppose to pay less than $1, they collected more than $3 from us that night. I could not cry when I later found out but such is life.

Is it really suppose to be like this? 🤔🤔🤔

The government are making life difficult for the citizens and citizens are making it difficult for other citizens.

  • When will this act of injustice and exploration of others stop?
  • When are we going to see ourselves as our brother's keeper.
  • When are we going to walk on our land and remain calm.
  • When are we going to sleep with our eyes closed?
  • When are we going to live peacefully without panicking?
  • When are we going to take humanity above all things?
  • When will this act stop?

Does this kind of exploration and extortion happen in your own country as well?

This is Nigeria and extortion is the order of the day.

Maybe one day, we will look at our flag and smile.

Thank you for reading till this end.

NB: This post was not written to bad mouth my country but it is a call to serve one another with love.

God bless Nigeria.

Till I cross your path again, I am like a ready made pen in the hand of the creator. I am
