Nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnneeeeeooooooom..................

Another week and another Tuesday upon us which can only mean one thing, another three tunes from me and hopefully from lots of ye. How are all of you music loving rockers from Cavan to the Caymen Islands? It's a time of the week when lovers of music, tunes and craic bring their blockchain community three of their finest and brightest tunes to share and celebrate, so lets roll on.

This will be my 60th week waxing lyrical for Three Tune Tuesday. It started off with me just sharing tunes into the void, but little by little others joined and now I'm thrilled that we have a little corner of Hive where we come and share our tunes every Tuesday, long may it continue. I almost stopped posting the songs and thoughts a few times, but I stuck with it and now interestingly it is my favorite thing about Hive. I love music and now I have a network of folks around the world who love music too and we share our tunes and catch up with each others tunes and discuss them each week. We get Pop, Metal, Rock, Gospel, Folk, Jazz, Rap, Hip-Hop, Trip-Hop, Reggae, Bippy bappidy Flange Hop. Ok I made that one up, but you get the idea, we are all learning about new artists, bands, back stories and sure isn't it just mighty!

We are adding New posters and retaining our core of regulars here on #TTT which is fantastic. Let's keep it growing and that playlist that @blackdaisyft is updating (when she gets time) will hit the 500 mark in no time. Thank you for doing that by the way daisy, when you do find time, as I like throwing on the playlist from time to time reminding myself of all of the sweet tunes that have been shared down through the months - Good on you.

Weekly, I try to find an hour or two to listen to all of the fantastic music shared from like-minded folk from around the globe. This has lead me to genres I don't know well and to some amazing new bands and artists and has even introduced me to some musical instruments I did not know existed.

I hope you enjoy the tunes - be sure to tell me all about it in the comments below and above all else, please enjoy the rest of your Tuesday - smile at a stranger, rub a dog, be a nice human to someone who was not expecting it - peace out.

For those unfamiliar with TTT or Three Tune Tuesday....

The jist is as follows

Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #ttt or #threetunetuesday tags that would be great. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the prize - more on that later.

Here are my week sixty recommendations for Three Tune Tuesday

** Drum roll please.....**

Joy Division - Disorder

One of my good friends sent me on a podcast that talks all about Joy Division and New Order and I binged three episodes today while driving to Dublin for work and now that I have Joy Division on the brain, I though what better band to share with you on this Three Tune Tuesday than the Manchester Maestros who inspired many many musicians with their iconic albums Unknown Pleasures and Closer. That's right, Joy Division only ever released two studio albums. Tragically front man Curtis died at the tender age of 23 and we only ever got the two albums from these combined geniuses.

This first song is the opener from Unknown Pleasures and is an absolute banger and I can hear Bloc Party, Interpol and The Smiths in there, all of whom would cite Joy Division as influences. They may not have known it at the time in 1979, but Ian Curtis,Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook and Stephen Morris were inspiring the bands and artists of the future.

Turn you volume up and have a blast of this one:

Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart

Sure, it may be the cliché choice, but I don't actually give a sideways shite, for me a great song is a great song, whether it has 16 listens or 16 billion listens, this one incidentally has 75,176,617 Youtube listens at the time of publishing this post.

This one was on their second and unfortunately last album Closer. After Curtis's untimely and tragic death, the remaining member parked Joy Division and went onto form another iconic band that I'm sure you all know well called New Order.

Both bands defined the post-punk era and are often cited as influences for some of my favorite bands and artists. Their music has a timeless element to it and you could easily imagine these songs being released today, although when you hear the shite in the charts, you would wonder how much success they might have?

Joy Division - Shadowplay

Tony Wilson and their manager Rob Gretton had just gotten Factory records up and running in the late 1970s, kind of by accident actually. The Punk scene had been huge up until then, but venues would no longer allow Punk acts to use their premises. Wilson found a location which was aptly called the Factory, as it was a dilapidated old factory and Punk bands from Manchester got together here and played underground Gigs in 1970s Manchester. Wilson came up with the idea to release a compilation album of the various bands and he used a small inheritance of approx. £5000 to press the 5000 copies of the album, which actually sold out and brought in small profit to allow them to get the Factory Records company officially set up.

Joy Division were one of their first LPs when they released Unknown Pleasures under the label and other artists like the Happy Mondays, James and New Order.

Let's take another one from Unknown Pleasures shall we? Here is ShadowPlay. Enjoy....

Hi @ablaze, I couldn't reply to you yesterday because my internet was terrible. I'll tell you something, Joe Division was a great band, I like them a lot, especially Love Will Tear Us Apart, for something they were pioneers of much of the music of the 80s and 90s. If you listen to The Cure, you will have reminiscences of them and if you listen to Soda Stereo too. They were great, I'm so glad you brought them up, this makes me remember that somewhere I think I have an acetate of The Ramones, I think I'm going to bring them up too.

Great band. I love music with a bit of edge to it and Joy Division had plenty of that!

Oh ya man, Edge is right, Joy Division had that in spades, it would be a short list of bands and artsist that had more Edge than them. The word Genius gets bandied around sometimes, but it's applicable here for me.

I was gonna say I didn't know them, but I immediatly recognised the 2nd and 3rd song, I just didn't know their name 🙈🙈

Great tunes! I had no idea they were from the 70's era 😊😊

Their music has a timeless element to it and you could easily >imagine these songs being released today, although when you hear >the shite in the charts, you would wonder how much success they >might have?

Totally agree with you! This could easily fall into the timeless songs category 👌 although I doubt it would make a big bang nowadays, sadly... most commercial, top shelf records are wayyyy different...

Ya they are masterpieces and the 2nd one is pretty sad and ironic, as less than a month after recording that video and song Curtis took his own life at the desperately young age of 23 - so tragic. He married young, separated, delveoped epilepsy and had an all around awful time of it, only music freed him to express his mind and emotions. That will live on forever in his music.

I had no idea they were from the 70's era

Yep, def sounds more modern and is an influence on loads of bands in the 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s and 20s...

That's very sad to know... Curtis really had a hard life. But wonderfully left such masterpieces for everyone to enjoy!

Thank you for sharing! 😁
