Love The Ever Present Clouds here in Ireland

The Clouds This Afternoon

I do this Love The clouds thing from time to time. It usually occurs when I see a pretty cool cloud in the sky and think to myself, hey that could be a good entry for that Love The Clouds contest. So here I am sharing a few pictures I saw today in the afternoon of a cool cloud formation. The photos didn't come out as well as I wanted however, so I took another few when I got in from work, which are shared further on.

If there's one thing we've no shortage off here in Ireland it's clouds. Big ones. Small ones. Long ones. Short ones. White ones. Grey ones. Almost black ones. Rainy ones. Not so rainy ones. You get the idea, lots and lots of clouds because we get lots and lots of rain.

The Clouds Just Now

As per usual there is a fine scatter of clouds in the evening sky here in Ireland and at this time of year, we'll have light until well past 9 o'clock p.m. which is very different than other places in the world where I've lived. Take Australia for example where it rarely stays bright anytime after about 6:30 p.m. or 7 p.m.

Here on the west coast of Ireland, on the longest day of the year on a clear day we could get fairly good light right up until close to 11 pm at night which is pretty cool and which was a massive part of growing up for kids here in this part of the country. We would get to stay up playing hide and seek or tip the can arounders or the likes onto the light faded and your mummy sort of calling your name from the front door: "Time for bed @ablaze"

The Clouds From My Window

I'll leave you with these last few clouds that were visible from a kitchen window just as I was tiding up and in the last few bits here this evening.

Lovely post and clouds are forever fascinating, especially when you can also see the sky between them! A good cloudscape warms the heart.

Sun sets here in Berkshire at nearly 9pm but the light sticks around for a bit longer. I’ve been to Mauritius which was much like Australia. Same daylight hours all year pretty much, dark at 6:30pm - which sounds strange.

because we get lots and lots of rain.

You're livin' in the wrong part of the country, sweetie. It's like the Bahamas here in Tipperary and ne'er a cloud in the sky. Sure I hear @blanchy wears only his swimming togs from May til September.

Some bad weather up in Galway eh. I haven't seen a cloud in over a week. I have a mantra during that time @deirdyweirdy . It's called swivel till you shrivel.

I have the shrivelled thing down pat, but the swivel I might have some problems with.

I like clouds. Especially the really dark ones. They signify something far more darker to me and it is really impressive how much I look forward to them even when they represent something I fear.

Dark clouds have to be one of my favourite things in the world. Just before the actual storms. Loved your cloud pictures a whole lot.
