Here are my week one hundred and forty four recommendations for Three Tune Tuesday

** Drum roll please.....**

Pearl Jam - Dark Matter

This week it's all about Pearl Jam man! I have Pearl Jam on the brain, as I will (hopefully) finally see them live this June here in Ireland. They have been on my bucket list of bands that I have wanted to see live for pretty much ever. They are one of the first bands that I got into, being heavily influenced by the music that my older brother and sisters were playing in early 90s Ireland.

This is not the first time that I got my hands on some coveted Pearl Jam tickets though. I had my hands on tickets for their London show in Hyde Park back in 2020 and we all know what happened that year and I was given a refund. I had a nice hotel booked, flights the works.

Here I have another chance though and we snapped up tickets. They were sold in a very ethical way too in order to avoid Bots and touts getting them, so almost all of the people that I know who were looking for tickets were successful.

Ok then let's get this Three Tune Tuesday thing up and running for the week and we'll blast of with their new single Dark Matter, which is also the title of the album and the tour, so it is as good a place to start as any!

Pearl Jam - Jeremy

Right then, let's turn back the clock a little few dials to when I first got into Pearl Jam as a youngster. It was around the time that Nirvana were bringing out Nevermind and The Red Hot Chill Peppers were bringing out Blood Sugar Sex Magik, Pearl Jam also brought out a craker of an album, namely Ten.

This album is one that always, I REPEAT always lives in my top ten of all time. It is just that good. I really hope that they play a good few from this album for the set list in June. That's only four months away people!

Right, so back to the gig, the location is in Marley Park in Dublin, which is a bit of a nightmare to get to and from. I have plenty of experience of taking hours on end to get a taxi back into town afterwards. Worry not my friends. we were out for dinner with friends last week, who just happen to live pretty close by and they are insisting that we stay with them for the night, as they too have tikets, so happy days! Tickets sorted and digs sorted too.

Now to pick just one song from Ten, that my friends is a tough task, but here we go.

Pearl Jam - Nothingman

Well, I wish the tickets cost "nothing man". They were far fuckin from it, with two tickets coming in at an eye watering €255.50 including the booking fee. Absolute fleecing bastards! To be fair though, I don't mind paying it to see these legends and the support acts Richard Ashcroft of The Verve fame and Murder Capital, a local Irish Punk band should be good.

This one comes from Pearl Jam's third studio album Vitalogy and often second and third albums can lack the creative brilliance of debut albums, where men in suits pressure the band into releasing more albums, before perhaps the band are ready to, but with Pearl Jam all three albums Ten, Vs and Vitalogy were top notch stuff.

Here is Nothingman a beautiful, simple, yet complex song. It explores the concept of being on the receiving end of love and ensuring to accept it with open arms, for the fear you may end up with nothing. Love can be hidden in the strangest of places, so when you uncover it's wonder, be ready to embrace it.

Three Tune Tuesday

That's right, it's Tuesday folks and for our merry little band of ladies and lads, that means sharing tunes, good vibes and engagement. As another week disappears in the rearview mirror, we have loads of engagement and tunes flying around on Three Tune Tuesday and sure isn't that bloody fantastic! I hope you're ready to share three tunes from wherever you find yourself on this magical spinning lump of rock that we all call home and sure you might even sing us a tune if we're lucky?

It's a time of the week when lovers of music, tunes and craic bring their blockchain community three of their finest and brightest tunes to share and celebrate, so let's roll on and let the tunes flow free.

This is my 144th week waxing lyrical for Three Tune Tuesday and we are still going strong.

It started off with me just sharing tunes into what seemed like a void, but little by little others joined and now I'm thrilled that we have a little corner of Hive where we come and share our tunes every Tuesday, and long may it continue. I almost stopped posting the songs and thoughts a few times, but I stuck with it and now interestingly it is my favorite thing about Hive. I love music and now I have a network of folks around the world who love music too and we share our tunes and catch up with each others tunes and discuss them each week. We get Pop, Metal, Rock, Gospel, Folk, Jazz, Rap, Hip-Hop, Trip-Hop, Reggae, Bippy bappidy Flange Hop. Ok I made that one up, but you get the idea, we are all learning about new artists, bands, back stories and sure isn't it just mighty!

Something that excites me the most is that we even get musicians sharing their covers of famous songs and even their own songs from time to time here on #ThreeTuneTuesday, which is a real favorite of mine, as that takes talent, time and dedication.

We are adding New posters and retaining our core of regulars here on #TTT which is fantastic. Let's keep it growing. Weekly, I try to find four to six hours to listen to all of the fantastic music shared from like-minded folk from around the globe and interact with their posts. This has led me to genres I don't know well and to some amazing new bands and artists and has even introduced me to some musical instruments I did not know existed. It also allows me to upvote smaller accounts and find some really interesting people from all over the world, which is heartening.

I hope you enjoy the tunes - be sure to tell me all about it in the comments below and above all else, please enjoy the rest of your Tuesday - smile at a stranger, rub a dog, be a nice human to someone who was not expecting it - peace out.

For those unfamiliar with TTT or Three Tune Tuesday....

The jist is as follows

Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #threetunetuesday tag that would be great, as that is what I use when sifting through all the entries every Wednesday. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the prize - more on that later.

Nice selection of tunes! That sucks you weren't able to see them back in 2020, but I am glad you are getting another chance! I had a number of shows that year that either got cancelled or rescheduled as well.

Ya we had a bunch of stuff cancelled too by that Covid nightmare. It's seems like a lifetime ago in some ways. Roll on June 🤘🏻

Tickets just cost an arm and a leg these days for everything!!!

I used to like a bit of pearl jam on karaoke, his voice was dead good to ham up 🙂

Oh Ten was such a huge album for me in my youth. Loved every song on it. Their MTV unplugged is amazing. I got to see them about 18 years ago when I was in Australia.
Great choices this week @ablaze, you can't beat Eddie's vocals xxxx

Alright, nothing like some sweet Pearl Jam! Great choices on the three songs by the way. Ticket prices have gone out of control, I remember in the eighties a concert would run around $12 a ticket. I heard my niece is going to a show by Olivia Rodrigo, and for three tickets it was $900. Absolutely insane!

Pearl Jam brings back good and bad memories. The 90's were a tough decade, but there was still a lot of great music to get us through. Honestly haven't listened to them probably since the 90's. Hoing you will have the chance to see them this year. Enjoy!

It's probably no different with Pearl Jam than it is with the other colleagues who have been making their mark on the music scene for so many years now. Some claim that there is no better export from Seattle, while their mate complains that the band's lyrics and music are getting softer and softer. The only thing that unites the two fans is that once you've been to a Pearl Jam concert, you can't wait to celebrate the next one. I think that says everything!
I recently received a particularly funny review from a critic. He said: "Pearl Jam are the Grateful Dead of grunge".
I wonder how long he has been thinking about this?

Ya I hear what you're saying, but they've just matured I suppose. What you write at age 26 should be quite different to what you write at age 58 and each decade in between in my opinion.
