Red Sky in the Morning, Sailor's warning!

That old chestnut

Red sky at night, Sailor's delight, Red Sky in the Morning, Sailor's warning! Isn't that how the expression goes.

I took these snaps last weekend before making my way to the golf course for my 7:30 tee time. I was actually up and around at 5:15am, as I was not able to get back to sleep after our five year old son woke us up at 3am. So, I just got up and got a few things done before heading to the golf course.

It was worthwhile getting up early in the end though, as there was a glorious colourful sun rise out the back, which I did my best to capture in the photos below.

The weather everywhere around the world seems to be getting more and more different than usual. In Ireland we are used to the rain and even more so on the West coast, where I live. However this year, it just seems to have never stopped raining at all. Relentless wet miserable rain.

For a guy who loves to play golf like me that is really not good, as it means that our local golf course is often closed due to soft ground conditions or waterlogged greens, which is painful and can be akin to a full force kick in the stones, when You've been looking forward to it all week.

In Dire need of a cut

Yep, before you say it, those gardens are in dire need of a cut and I have been threatening to do it now for the past few weeks, but every time we have a few nice dry days, the pissings of rain follow soon after, so the long grass prevails.

The long grass is a bit of an eyesore for me, but worse than that are two other matters. The first being the propensity of hidden presents left their by our dogs. What presents are they? I'll give you a clue, they're brown, smelly and rhyme with Brit.

The other bad thing about the long grass is that it makes playing football out in the garden challenging for our sons, and it is always good to get the lads out playing in the fresh air, rather than cooked up looking at screens inside.

The grass is not the only thing that needs a cut either, my hair is starting to get quite long and an auld trip to the barber is well overdue, so I might head off and do that now. Chat to ye later.

*The photos used throughout this post are all my own taken on my Samsung smart phone*

Peace out.
