It will cost you probably just a few bucks, or nothing, to open a Hive account and get it going. I know I haven't paid a dime for this account and if one finds someone nice enough to delegate some HP, that one new user can start exploring the world of Hive in no time with no cost at all.

It takes thousands upon thousands of hours to "polish that account" and to grow it. The way I see it, nowadays this process is a bit easier, due to the way the platform has been organized, communities being a great leap forward that many are not appreciating enough.

I have my Hive account for over four years and I've spent over 10,000 hours on this platform growing it. I'm close to reaching a 77 reputation score and all of that is organic. My whole community is "organic" as well and I had no one from outside of Hive supporting my content.

I took it the hard way and I don't regret a second spent here, especially since I joined Leofinance. Hive is part of my identity and also a good supplier for my personal finances. It took me years and insane efforts to get here and it seems that the fun is just getting started.

I was thinking today, though, how much would my account be worth... I'm not referring to the HIVE tokens this one is holding, but the brand that I've established myself in here. For what would I sell it... That's something that crossed my mind lately.

Well, first of all, I doubt I would sell it because that's something like selling part of my identity, but everything has a price, right... Well, although not thinking of selling it, and also not in the position of having any offer, I would not handle my keys to anyone for anything under $100,000.

That's where I'd put the value of my account and the hustle that it took me to make it what it is. This account has not hit the trending page in a long time, but it's one of the most active ones here and that's where I think its value comes from. What about you, would you sell your account? For how much?

I know many would not even think of doing this and somehow it doesn't even makes much sense but curious to read what's the value people are putting on their accounts.

I don't think it's a good idea even for $100,000, there are things you can't sell and a hive account is one of them.

Imagine trying to see account that earns more than 100$ per post, we have some accounts that give more than $$ to this community because the information they pass are life savings.

My music-only account @recording-box has about 14k HP. I expect the price of HIVE to be somewhere between $2 and $5 in the next 3 years, so in an emergency, I'd sayb $25,000 would be a fair price.

Not planning on doing that though.

Been here consistently for eight months and I have written everyday about everything, hive minus the earnings is a diary for me that I might pass on to my children one day.

Anyways, still, everything has a price and a good 50k seems right, I'll invest half into a new account and try again.

Well, if you invest so much time in something, in order to generate some income apart from the emotional side of the “income” you’ll better stick to what you are doing and as soon as you enjoy the whole experience, there is no actual price that can be asked. Of course if you feel tired and cannot enjoy the space here, then you can think of a reasonable price.

This is a... good question. Instinctually, I said I wouldn't sell it.

The interesting fact is that we can in fact sell web3 accounts for a certain amount, just like any other assets. Because web2 accounts are or should be worth almost zero to us since we are only users, not true owners.

I wouldn't sell mine, personally... at least, not for anything less than a stupidly large amount. Like, I dunno. 1 million USD. I guess I'd part with it for that. But is it worth that? Fuck no lol, my random worldbuilding and gaming shit is super niche and that's just how I like it.

I think it’s a little different to sell a brand on a platform like hive and leo. Personally I wouldn’t sell because I couldn’t think of a price. If I sold it, the auto votes I have gotten would likely continue for a period but we can take that away. Brands can certainly be difficult to market and sell!
