The Next Thing That A.I. is About To Kill...

Chat GPT...

Man people can't even take a shit these days without "talking to the bot" before doing that. The truth is that ChatGPT is quite a powerful productivity tool that was offered to us by its creators for free ;).

You can have it write poems for you, the code for all sorts of apps, blog articles, not the most creative or readable I've seen but at least the service is trying its best, and to me, sometimes this thing is a more appealing alternative to google, but I try to limit my ChatGPT usage as much as possible.

I don't even know when was the last time I used it, but I sure did knock at its door a couple of times by now. Never actually used it to write entire blog posts for Hive because it's not the behavior I would encourage anyone to approach regarding content creation on Hive. However, there was some media outlet(I forgot the name) that announced a few weeks, if not months ago that it will replace most of its staff with bots.

I bet Open AI got a lot of hate from the employees who got fired by that company, but sometimes you just can't fight technology. Youtube is full of videos on how you can make money by using ChatGPT and most of these ones are tutorials on how to create content that can be transformed into videos and shared on youtube.

I guess WEB2 is not dead yet...

And then there's the metaverse... Has anyone spent any minute so far in the metaverse? I sure know I haven't, and from what I know even Meta(the company behind Facebook) took the foot off the pedal while being in quite a rush at some point to "develop the metaverse". I know, the metaverse will not be created by just one company.

It will be a sort of virtual realm that would somehow be perceived as a parallel virtual world to the one we have on earth and we will somehow all participate in creating it, if that makes any sense... So far we don't have "a metaverse" yet.

But what happens if we will have a proper one soon? Chances are you will see economies being developed in such a space, "offices getting opened" exclusively in the metaverse, office workers doing their job in some sort of a metaverse office, the gaming industry moving its multiple playgrounds to such a space, and so on and so forth.

What happens when A.I. enters the metaverse?

Well, it will pretty much replicate the behavior it had in the real world, meaning that if A.I. is already taking jobs from us humans just a few months after ChatGPT got released when the metaverse comes, A.I. will probably be on steroids by then, and doing the same thing will be as easy as taking candy from a child's hand.

When certain companies will look for hiring workers for certain projects they won't be bothering to verify if the ones applying for such jobs are bots or humans. The only thing that they will be interested in will be productivity. Kind of how society works at the moment. Somehow we pushed ourselves consciously in that direction by working and living like robots.

Now, all we are being left with are "better, smarter, and faster" robots that will take over many more jobs from us humans in the future, including future potential metaverse ones. Some of us who will be clever enough to leverage such technology will profit from it and "force A.I." into working for them.

Plebs like myself who still appreciate "organic work" are gonna be having a hard time. But worry not pleb, cuz there shall be enough UBI to get you covered so you can waste your time in the metaverse playing games all day and eating junk food delivered to your window by drones.

What a bright future is awaiting us. I'm so excited...

Thanks for your attention
Adrian
