The Sound of Silence
I somehow promised @ewkaw yesterday that I was going to do a monochrome post today. I did that after hers, which was indeed a great photography post. As it was getting close to midday, I still hadn't taken any shots for the post. I also had no idea where to go to find the perfect subjects...
Well, sometimes we walk so close to opportunities that we miss them. They're literally in your face. So, here's the story behind these shots...
I was returning to town after a short trip to a nearby city when I felt the need to spend some time outside and enjoy the fresh air. It's quite cloudy here, but at least we have fresh spring air, which is better than rain and firewood smoke.
So, I turned right onto the E70 and drove down the road to Vodita Monastery, where there are some really nice ruins to visit, perfect for the monochrome post I had in mind.
There was also a friendly dog there, and I couldn't resist offering him some attention. When I left the place and opened the window to take a final shot of him, he literally jumped on my door and almost kissed me. He even tried a French kiss, judging by the way his tongue looked 😀.
Just kidding...
I know the dog; I've been there in the past too, and he's always around. He didn't come to the window to greet me; he was actually asking for food, but unfortunately, I didn't have any...
I kind of lied about the monochrome post because I was so satisfied with my smartphone shots after a bit of editing that I decided to post both versions: the edited color version and the black and white ones.
Tell me which ones are your favorites, and as always, have a great day! See you all next time.
Thanks for your attention,
Adrian
That dog can't hold his licker. I didn't even notice the clouds in the color images, but they are so dramatic in monochrome. Nice work!
Thanks. The dog is a joker indeed.
Those ruins are really cool! I can imagine they would look so nice with some sunset light on them.
I like both versions actually :)
Good idea. I’ll get there at sunset this summer and give these shots another try.
Awesome :)
Hi,
The contrast of the color photographs next to the black and white ones is very interesting. Very good place to take photos and explore.
Greetings
