Weekends Suck(Big Time)

I got my first post on Hive sometime in early 2018, and since then, I’ve been creating content here nonstop. Except for school, which I had to attend five days a week for about 12 years straight, I’ve never had a longer streak in anything. I’m not exactly Mr. Consistent...
The second personal activity I’ve managed to cling to for about half the time I’ve been on Hive, but with similar consistency, is my gym routine. I can’t imagine life without the gym—it’s become a core part of who I am.
However...
And this is a big deal (to me)... I haven’t yet managed to establish a proper diet that’d give me decent abs. I don’t even dare dream of a six-pack. Flat abs would be more than perfect, but no matter how hard you train in the gym, if you don’t nail your diet, you won’t get there.
I’m honestly a mess in that department. I manage to eat pretty clean until Friday evening or Saturday, but almost every weekend, I derail from my so-called diet.
Take this week, for example—I scarfed down a burger last night and two pancakes for dinner.
Today, I had some cevapcici (hard to translate into English), which are insanely high in calories, and for dessert, I grabbed some donuts, also stupidly calorie-dense. That’s not doing my gym goals any favors.
This self-realization makes me think weekends are so damn dangerous for my diet. Way more dangerous than I ever thought. And there’s a reason why—very few people stick to routines on weekends. We associate them with laziness, so a lot of us end up indulging in junk food during those days.
It’s the same for folks with drinking problems. You don’t hit too many parties during the week, so if you’re trying to stay sober, it’s the weekend when you’re most likely to slip up and lose sight of your goals.
I guess I’ll have to figure out some kind of weekend routine to eat cleaner. I know it’s a mental thing, but how many of you have managed to quit sugar entirely, for example?
It shouldn’t be that hard. All you gotta do is stop eating sweets, but damn, very few people pull it off. Sticking to a proper diet is just as tough, but man, it’s so worth it when you do. Who knows, maybe next week... I’ve been saying that for years now. Maybe this is the time.
That’s about it from me for now. Wishing you all a great day, and I’ll catch up with you next time.
Thanks for your attention,
Adrian
