It's Disco Time! 💿🕺💃 - Three Tune Tuesday

Good, cold and rainy days from Germany! I hope you are feeling well. Today I want to share on @ablaze's initiative, #threetunetuesday, three of my favorite songs, from one of my favorite singer-songwriters and bands. Surprise surprise, also from the 70s/80s. I'm talking about none other than Jeff Lynne and the Electric Light Orchestra. So put on your dancing shoes and enjoy, because is Disco time!

This second piece has all the vibe of the late 70s and early 80s. Last Train to London is perhaps not a well-known piece for many, but its melody is unmistakable. Who has traveled by train to London?

Today's last piece is a classic of classics that takes me back to my adolescence. Surely most of you, upon hearing the following piece, immediately relate it to Olivia Newton-John and Xanadu, the movie. But, few know that the song's author is Jeff Lynne. It's hard for me in particular to choose which interpretation is better, so here I'll just leave you with Olivia's version (she starts singing at minute 3:24) to enjoy. Look for Jeff's version and decide which one is better. 😉

¡Abrazos!

Oh wow, ELO definitely brings back memories. Discovery (or Disco.. Very.. as Jeff Lynne refers to it) was one of my first albums. Thanks for sharing these!

Good, cold and rainy days from Germany!

Are you sure you're not in Ireland!

Jeff Lynne and the Electric Light Orchestra are brilliant, such happy music that makes me smile and want to get up and just dance, especially that first song! Last Train to London a bot less known as you mention, but a great melody and buzz of this one too.

Xanadu completely new to me, never even heard of the movie!
