CineTV Contest: 47 Ronin/ My favorite Keanu Reeves movie [ENG-SPA]
For me, Keanu Reeves, is an actor whose main attraction is not to be super handsome, that in comparison with other actors, but he has starred and participated in interesting and successful films, so in this installment of the CineTV Contest #54 the proposal is to choose among the films of this actor and share with the readers of the community, the reasons why we have chosen that movie.
Para mí, Keanu Reeves, es un actor que no tiene como atractivo principal ser superguapo, eso en comparación con otros actores, pero ha protagonizado y participado en películas interesantes y exitosas, así en esta entrega del CineTV Contest #54 la propuesta es elegir entre las películas de este actor y compartir con los lectores de la comunidad, los motivos por las cuales hemos elegido dicha película.
Now, this actor is known for having participated in hits such as the Matrix saga in which he played Neo and also for participating in the 1991 film "Breaking Point" with Patrick Swayze, among others, more recently he is known for playing John Wick, a famous, admired, feared and retired professional killer, who is forced to pick up where he left off due to several events that occur in his personal life. You would think that I could choose any of these movies, but no, I have leaned towards another one in which fantasy, legend and history are present and it is:
Ahora bien, este actor es reconocido por haber participado en éxitos como la saga de Matrix en la que interpreto a Neo y también por participar en la película Punto de Quiebre en 1991 junto a Patrick Swayze, entre otras, de manera más reciente es reconocido por personificar a John Wick, un asesino profesional famoso, admirado, temido y retirado, que se ve obligado a retomar lo que había dejado debido a varios hechos que ocurren en su vida personal. Pensarán que podría elegir alguna de estas películas, pero no, me he inclinado por otra en la que la fantasía, leyenda e historia están presentes y es:
47 Ronin
For those who might not know, this movie, although full of special effects and fantasy, is based on real events that occurred in Japan between 1701 and 1703, these events were directly related to the application of the Bushido code of honor. This code of honor was the guide for the samurai, it was to call it somehow their rule of faith and practice.
The Bushido Code is a very strict ethical code composed of 7 principles: integrity, respect, courage, honor, compassion, honesty and loyalty. These 7 principles allowed the Samurai to be the most powerful and fierce men of their time, and at the same time the most righteous and honorable.
Para los que pudieran desconocerlo, esta película, aunque llena de efectos especiales y fantasía, está basada en eventos reales que ocurrieron en Japón entre 1701 y 1703, estos hechos estuvieron directamente relacionados con la aplicación del código de honor Bushido. Este código de honor era la guía para los samuráis, era por llamarlo de alguna manera su regla de fe y práctica.
El Código Bushido es un código ético muy estricto compuesto por 7 principios: integridad, respeto, valor, honor, compasión, honestidad y lealtad. Estos 7 principios permitieron a los Samurái ser los hombres más poderosos y fieros de su época, y a la vez los más justos y honorables.

Let's remember a little of its plot, the film revolves around a young half-caste that a Feudal lord of Ako (a region of Japan) allowed him to live in his lands, this young man was marginalized all the time for his condition of half-caste, in addition to that he came to be considered a demon, But this at all times proved to be noble and faithful even with those who did not appreciate him and being in love with the daughter of the feudal lord, he went to rescue her and avenge her father, along with those who were the samurai of this lord, who lost their feudal lord, became ronin, since they had no one to serve, this was considered a dishonor for them as samurai.

Recordemos un poco su trama, la película gira en torno a un joven mestizo al que un señor Feudal de Ako (una región de Japón) le permitió vivir en sus tierras, este joven era marginado todo el tiempo por su condición de mestizo, además de que se le llegó a considerar un demonio, pero este en todo momento demostró ser noble y fiel aún con aquellos que no le apreciaban y al estar enamorado de la hija del señor feudal, fue a rescatarla y a vengar a al padre de esta, junto a quienes fueron los samuráis de este señor, los cuales al perder a su señor feudal, pasaron a ser ronin, ya que no tenían a quien servir, esto era considerado una deshonra para ellos como samuráis.
Remember that even today in Japan there are codes and customs of behavior that are characteristic of their culture, they love and seek excellence and strive every day to perfect what they do, not to be or do what is expected is something that dishonors not only the perpetrator but also his family, imagine how would be the dishonor in the middle of feudal Japan, So this young man named Kai even being marginalized and mistreated, at all times showed humility and nobility, so his actions led him to be recognized by the 47 ronin and the end by the same Shōgun who ruled in Japan at that time, who knowing what happened recognizes them all including the young half-breed, as Samurai and as I can not avoid the law orders them to take their lives (suicide), using the sepukku.
Recordemos que aún hoy en Japón hay códigos y costumbres de comportamiento que son propios de su cultura, ellos aman y buscan la excelencia dar lo mejor y se esmeran cada día en perfeccionar lo que hacen el no ser o hacer lo propio o esperado, es algo que deshonra no solo al causante también a su familia, imaginen como sería el deshonor en medio del Japón feudal, así que este joven llamado Kai aun siendo marginado y maltratado, en todo momento demostró humildad y nobleza, así sus acciones le llevaron a ser reconocido por los 47 ronin y la final por el mismo Shōgun que regía en Japón en aquella época, quien al saber lo ocurrido les reconoce a todos incluido al joven mestizo, como Samuráis y como no puedo eludir la ley les ordena quitarse la vida (suicidarse), usando el sepukku.
Although when reading about this legend, there is no mention of any half-breed among these men, the film is quite close to the real story, the role played by Keanu Reeves, is from my perception a sample of how someone marginalized and mistreated, can decide, choose, not to be a resentful being and achieve to be more noble and greater than those who have humiliated him, many times, we forget that we can give better lessons doing good than paying with the same coin.
Aunque al leer de esta leyenda, no se habla de ningún mestizo en medio de estos hombres, la película se apega bastante a la historia real, el papel que interpreta Keanu Reeves, es desde mi percepción una muestra de cómo alguien marginado y maltratado, puede decidir, elegir, no ser un ser resentido y lograr ser más noble y grande que aquellos que le han humillado, muchas veces, olvidamos que podemos dar mejores lecciones haciendo el bien que pagando con la misma moneda.

I'm yet to meet a cinephile who doesn't like Keanu Reeves! He did great in 47 Ronin and I love the film mostly because of the fighting scenes and sword art techniques. It's a classic in my opinion. Have you seen the sequel, Blade of the 47 Ronin (2022)? It's not bad but not as good as the first film. Keanu Reeves did not appear in it though.

The truth is that all his movies are good, but Matrix resurrections left me a little disappointed, but 47 ronin is one of my favorites, the action scenes are very good, I really want to see which movie you will choose.

Keanu Reeves! is one of the many actions that knows his onions. He always gives his best to the movies he acts. I haven't seen 47 Ronin but your review just makes me want to check it out.
