Fungi are organisms not well understood and appreciated by many in the world, they fulfill a very important job, such as decomposing dead matter and recycling nutrients in the environment, as I see it, they remind us that everything that dies becomes something else, feeds something else, everything has a purpose even after its departure.

As I have mentioned in previous posts, I don't often have the opportunity to see mushrooms where I live and much less diversity, most of the ones I have seen and shared are the so called shelf mushrooms, more than a month ago I thought I saw some very small capped ones shading the bark of a tree, but as I was coming under a torrential downpour, I could not stop, first to make sure what my eyes were seeing and second to photograph it.

But to the delight of my eyes, last week exactly eight days ago when I was leaving to attend the Caracas Blockchain Week 2022, I saw a decomposing trunk and on which looked the group of fungi that you see in these photographs.

Seeing how the trunk has been decomposing and how little by little either in one way or another it will be transformed into something else, is amazing, it was not a large group of mushrooms, but at least they were different from those I normally see, I have always found mushrooms extraordinary, my favorites are mushrooms, which I think are the best known edible mushrooms.

While I was looking at the trunk that is decomposing at least from the angle I saw it, it seemed to me that the process is from the outside, they do inside what is observed in the photographs, it is rotting towards the center, especially in that part that we could call the heart of the trunk and in one of those holes were born that group of mushrooms that I have shared with you because of the moisture that is concentrated there.

Los hongos son organismos no bien comprendidos y apreciados por muchos en el mundo, ellos cumplen una labor muy importante, como lo son la descomposición de la materia muerta y a reciclar los nutrientes en el medio ambiente, como yo lo veo, ellos nos recuerdan que todo lo que muere se transforma en algo más, alimenta algo más, todo tiene un propósito aun después de su partida.

Como ya he mencionado en anteriores publicaciones, no tengo la oportunidad de ver a menudo hongos en el lugar en el que vivo y mucho menos diversidad, la mayoría de los que he visto y compartido son los llamados hongos de repisa, hace más de un mes me pareció ver unos muy pequeños de sombrero sombre la corteza de un árbol, pero como venía bajo un torrencial aguacero, no me puede detener, primero para asegurar lo que mis ojos veían y segundo para fotografiarlo.

Pero para el deleite de mis ojos, la semana pasada hace exactamente ocho días cuando salía para asistir a la Caracas Blockchain Week 2022, vi un tronco en descomposición y sobre el cual lucían el grupo de hongos que ven en estas fotografías.

Ver cómo se ha ido descomponiendo el tronco y como poco a poco ya sea de una forma o de otra se transformará en algo más, es sorpréndete, no era un grupo grande de hongos, pero al menos eran diferentes a los que normalmente veo, siempre me han parecido extraordinarios los hongos, mis favoritos son los champiñones, que creo son los hongos comestibles más conocidos.

Mientras veía el tronco que se está descomponiendo al menos desde el ángulo que lo vi me pareció que el proceso es desde afuera, hacen dentro lo que se observa en las fotografías, se está pudriendo hacia el centro, sobre todo en esa parte que podríamos llamar el corazón del tronco y en uno de esos hoyos nacieron ese grupo de hongos que les he compartido por la humedad que allí se concentra.

Finalmente, me despido feliz por haber compartido con ustedes estas fotografías y les recuerdo que están en toda la libertad de compartir conmigo sus impresiones.
