Hug me

(Edited)

A few years ago a group called Camila, was very successful, among the most popular songs there is one titled Abrazame, well I liked it a lot, recently I do not remember, if in any program or news I heard that they talked about how important hugs are, I know that for me it is very rich to feel them, so after hearing that the lack of hugs could be the cause of death of a child caused me curiosity, so I investigated and today I share with you the importance of hugs.

Bienvenidos a mi blog (1).png

Human beings are social beings and the lack of socialization or the wrong way of it, brings consequences, so I think we all want to feel armed, appreciated and valued especially by the people who are important to us and, if there is something that we all love, no matter how dry and little kinesthetic we may be, are hugs, which for me is the expression of affection par excellence, as it can express much without the use of words, appreciation, comfort, friendship, love, empathy and many others.

I discovered while reading that babies come with a programming to survive and part of what they need is to be hugged, who does not like to hold a baby and hug him tenderly? you would really have to be very hard-hearted not to be touched by a baby or a child, no matter how naughty he may be, maybe those pranks, mischief and misbehavior, are the way to express their lack of affection, I share with you part of what I read because it is based on studies.

...babies come into the world with an innate biological programming to bond with the mother in order to survive and get protection. In relation to this, several experiments were made in which orphaned children were observed, deprived of attachment and contact with the mother figure and it was found that these children later suffered negative and unpleasant consequences that prevented their emotional and social development in a satisfactory manner. The conclusion they reached is that it is not a matter of being continually focused on the child, overprotecting him and that there is no life beyond the baby; the experiments advise that it is essential that the little ones feel cared for and that their needs for affection, affection and attachment are met.

So hugs are necessary and although I must confess that sometimes I avoid them to avoid crying, the years and the experience gained with them have shown me that many times we must accept and recognize not only our virtues and strengths, also those shortcomings and things or issues to be resolved, precisely to take those first steps that allow us to move forward for personal benefit and believe it or not hugs have benefits here I share briefly some of them.

1.- They reduce stress. Hugs and physical contact, decrease the production of cortisol, which is the hormone that causes stress.

2.- Reduces blood pressure. Hugging causes the release of oxytocin, which helps reduce blood pressure.

3.- It gives us our share of affection. Affection is one of the basic needs of us as human beings, the hug is one of the ways for that affection to reach us.

4.- It improves the immune system. Giving or receiving a hug allows our immune system to be activated and strengthened.

5.- Reduces the risk of dementia. Hugs stimulate us, reassure us while balancing our nervous system, so it is important to receive hugs since childhood in order to avoid dementia. As well as avoiding depression, low self-esteem and the feeling of being isolated from the world.

6 .- It gives us confidence and security. The human being is born without knowledge of hatred, selfishness, but also insecure, inexperienced, fragile, contact and hugs help us to acquire security and confidence which allows us to develop to be healthy emotionally.

7.- They generate pleasure. It is delicious to feel a hug or give a hug, when giving or receiving a hug our brain secretes hormones related to pleasure, specifically dopamine and serotonin.

If after reading this, you still believe in bullshit such as: Needing a hug is a sign of weakness or any other that you have read, heard or believed for not being hugged, I recommend you to discard it right now and start hugging and being hugged that will help you to improve your quality of life and self-esteem.

Thank you for reading.png

I say goodbye hoping that this publication allows you to change your way of thinking about hugs, although I know that currently the pandemic limits us a little, but this has to end someday, for now you can start hugging your partner, children, parents, siblings or pets. If you like it, leave me a comment.

Hugs are healing but as mentioned by friend @joseph1956, there are people who, due to our Asperger condition, are not very open to them(I include myself in the list).

However, it is important to point out that they are very important to express our emotions and build trust.

I have seen many free hugs generatives around the world, a very nice and very generous gesture.

I didn't know this about Aspergers not enjoying hugs, you learn something every day.

I enjoy hugs but sometimes I don't even want to be touched hahaha.

Not all Aspergers think alike, but due to the difficulty of socializing, it is very difficult for us to share certain things that are common for people in general.

In my case, I don't like them to invade my personal zone, and that's why I'm not very fond of hugs 🙄

Maybe I have some Asperger's trait because I let myself be hugged but only by those with whom I feel comfortable, I have even heard people say that I put up invisible walls and don't let them get in touch with me.

The truth is that I did not know how important a hug is, I enjoyed them and that was it, I felt how they filled me with something that I cannot describe, affection, energy, I even sighed depending on the person who gave it to me and to whom I return it, but when I discovered this I managed to understand a little more and I had to share it.

Receiving a sincere hug from a good friend is beautiful because it conveys appreciation and affection towards us, which means a lot.

This is how a hug allows us to perceive and receive the appreciation and affection of others.

Because people don't want to seem weak they avoid being emotional and so hugging seems odd. Nice piece

Very true, but I believe that giving tokens of love and affection is not due, but society has put that misconception in our heads.

You have enlightened more on why it is important to hug people. To me, I see hugging as love. When you hug someone especially when he or she is depressed, the person feels calm and happy. Whatever the person is going through will be taken away because there is an assurance that someone is there to love them. Hugging brings relief. Thank you for sharing.

Así es, los abrazos son una manera de conectarnos aun sin usar palabras, ya que expresan mucho.
