When she was a child of school age, Gabriela did not understand why her mother insisted so fervently that she study, she saw that other mothers told her classmates the same thing, but the way her mother told her, it was as if it were a plea, as if her life depended on it, as she grew up this girl began to understand a little more the circumstances of life that surrounded both her and her mother.

Her father abandoned her mother when she was barely 5 years old and she saw him very sporadically, her mother a humble woman who had emigrated from her country of origin, who barely knew how to read and write, got a job as a maid in the home of a family with very good wealth, this family in addition to her salary, a roof, food, For this humble woman named Sara, this was a marvel, since she knew that her daughter would study in good schools and she did not even have the money to pay for her uniforms.

Gabriela and her mother, although they were not mistreated by the family for whom she worked, always felt that in a very subtle way they let her know and remembered that they were not equal, the daughter of the family studied in the most expensive school in the city, Gabriela was paid the school, but one that although it was not public, was subsidized, in short for girls or families of lower resources, so this girl as she grew up and saw the effort of her mother understood the reasons why she should study and be the best in everything.

Since childhood Gabriela felt sympathy and attraction for technology, for computers, for everything related to this world, many when knowing her decision to study systems engineering, emphasized to her that it was a profession and environment in which normally men developed and that very few women were known in it, listening to this made her insist even more in studying systems and she set the goal of becoming the best systems engineer and be recognized as the best woman programmer.

Gabriela's path, those years of study at the university were not easy, because in addition to the challenge of each subject, she had to face the prevailing machismo, in this environment only few women studied this career, of 5 who started with her only two had reached the last semesters, because between financial and family problems and the pressure of the career the other three gave up, as well as some of the male classmates.

But Gabriela insisted, persisted, spent sleepless nights, studied hard and showed her classmates and professors that she was a young woman, not only beautiful, intelligent and determined, she was persistent, disciplined and was up to the challenges that came her way, she graduated with honors and was recruited by one of the best technology and computer related companies in the world, She took her mother with her and founded a training school for girls and young women of limited resources, so that from an early age they can learn more about technology, become familiar with it and fall in love with it to see more and more women develop professionally in the world of technology and networks.

Cuando era una niña en edad escolar, Gabriela no comprendía por qué su madre insistía con tanto fervor en que estudiara, ella veía que otras madres le decían lo mismo a sus compañeras de clase, pero la manera como su madre se lo decía ella, era como si fuera una súplica, como si su vida dependiera de ello, mientras crecía esta niña comenzó a comprender un poco más las circunstancias de vida que la rodeaban tanto a ella como a su madre.

Su padre abandonó a su madre cuando ella tenía escasos 5 años y lo veía de manera muy esporádica, su madre una mujer humilde que había emigrado de su país de origen, quien apenas sabia leer y escribir, consiguió empleo como sirvienta en casa de una familia con muy buen patrimonio, esta familia además de su salario, un techo, comida, dos días libres, el permitirle tener a su hija allí junto a ella, le prometieron sufragar desde ese momento hasta convertirse en una profesional, todos los gastos de estudio de su hija, para esta humilde mujer de nombre Sara, esto era una maravilla, ya que sabía que su hija estudiaría en buenos colegios y ella no tenía ni para pagar ni sus uniformes.

Gabriela y su madre, aunque no eran maltratadas por la familia para la cual trabajaba, siempre sintieron que de una manera muy sutil le dejan saber y recordaban que no eran iguales, la hija de la familia estudiaba en el colegio más caro de la ciudad, a Gabriela le pagaban el colegio, pero uno que aunque no era pública, era subsidiada, en pocas palabras para niñas o familias de menores recursos, así esta niña al ir creciendo y ver el esfuerzo de su madre comprendió las razones de por las que debía estudiar y ser la mejor en todo.

Desde la niñez Gabriela sentía simpatía y atracción por la tecnología, por los computadores, por todo lo relacionado con este mundo, muchos al conocer su decisión por estudiar ingeniería en sistemas, le hicieron énfasis en que era una profesión y medio en el normalmente se desenvolvían los hombres y que se conocía a muy pocas mujeres en el mismo, escuchar esto la hizo insistir aún más en estudiar sistemas y se fijó la meta de convertirse en la mejor ingeniero en sistemas y ser una reconocida como la mejor mujer programadora.

El camino de Gabriela, esos años de estudio en la universidad no fueron fáciles, pues además del desafío de cada materia, tuvo que enfrentar el machismo reinante, en este medio solo pocas mujeres estudiaban esta carrera, de 5 que comenzaron con ella solo dos habían llegado a los últimos semestres, porque entre problemas financieros, familiares y la presión de la carrera las otras tres desistieron, al igual que algunos de los compañeros hombres.

Pero Gabriela insistió, persistió, paso noches en vela, estudio mucho y le demostró a sus compañeros y profesores que ella era una joven mujer, no solo bella, inteligente y determinada, era persistente, disciplina y estaba a la altura de los retos que se le presentaban, se graduó con honores y fue reclutada por una de las mejores empresas relacionadas con tecnología e informática del mundo, se llevó a su madre con ella y fundo una escuela de capacitación para niñas y jóvenes de escasos recursos, para que desde temprana edad puedan aprender más de tecnología se familiaricen con ella y se enamoren de ella para ver cada vez más mujeres desarrollarse profesionalmente mundo de la tecnología y las redes.
