Feliz #Catyrday para todos, hoy es un día en el que los amantes de los gatos estamos felices ya que nos dan la excusa perfecta para hablar de nuestros queridos bigotudos, hace algún tiempo vengo pensando en hablar de temas de los que es muy probable que otro amante de los gatos ya haya escrito, subido algún video o algo más, pero innegable que cada uno le dará su toque o particularidad que lo hace único cada material, así hoy quiero dedicar esta publicación a una raza de gatos muy conocida y que es muy probable que alguno de mis lectores tenga en casa y son los Siameses.

No se tú, que me lees, pero yo tengo en casa uno de estos seres, tal vez no tan puro o con pedigree como los de algunos, pero en las oportunidades que he leído las características de esta raza siento que la o las personas que escribieron este articulo han convivido con Pocholo, ese es el nombre de este gordito glotón y territorial.

Primero comenzare por el aspecto que caracteriza a lo siameses y es su coloración por lo regulares un pelaje blanco o color crema hasta el marrón, pero lo que los distingue o a la mayoría de ellos es la coloración oscura en orejas, cara, cola, patas y las almohadillas de las patas, pero dentro de ellos existen variaciones, las cuales cito a continuación para evitar cometer un error al compartir información errada:

Los cuatro colores principales de gatos siameses son:

Seal points, tiene puntos de color marrón muy oscuro
Puntos de chocolate, tienen puntos de un color chocolate con leche más ligero
Puntos azules, tienen puntos de color gris-azuloso
Puntos lila o frost points, es el color más claro de todos, como un rosado muy tenue, un gris pálido.

De la misma manera, es importe señalar, que estos cuatro colores o combinaciones son los resultantes de crías puras y reconocidos por Consejo de Raza Siamés de la CFA (Asociación de Criadores de gato) en EEUU. En el caso de Pocholo el sería un Seal points al igual que su madre y ambos tienen la medida y peso promedio de los siameses, ya que son de tamaño mediano y los machos llegan a pesar hasta 5 kilos, en el caso de Pocholo pesa 4,5 kg, mientras que las hembras pueden pesar hasta 4 kilos, en cuanto a sus ojos siempre son azules y suelen ser almendrados y la cola suele ser larga.

Por otro lado, en cuanto a la historia de esta popular raza, tenemos que su nombre se debe al reino se Sian, actualmente Tailandia donde solo la realeza podía tener un gato siamés, además se les creía poseedores de poderes especiales, además es sabido que es una de las razas más antiguas que existe, se presume que su llegada a Europa y resto al mundo, se debe a que la hermana de un embajador británico, recibió como regalo una pareja de gatos siameses, pero esta es una historia no confirmada.

Agregado a lo anterior, el comportamiento estos niños tiene como una característica el que son particularmente parlanchines y con parlanchines me refiero a que vocalizan mucho, para dirigirse a quienes somos sus humanos en cuestión, además de ser gatos muy apegados a su humanos y/o familias, suelen ser sociales, pero al mismo tiempo suelen y pueden ser muy nerviosos, no disfrutan para nada la presencia de extraños en casa, otra característica de estos gatos es que al mismo les gusta la compañía, disfruta de estar acompañado, por ello si decides adoptar uno, te recomiendo adoptar otro gato, ya que no les gusta estar solos o también pues comprar o elaborar juguetes y un rascador para que se mantenga entretenido las horas que estará solo en casa.

Igualmente, si decides adoptar un siamés te aconsejo prepararte ya que estarás acompañado de un minino demandante, que se hará sentir si tiene hambre, frio o si desea que le hagas cariño y créeme lo hará con una voz muy fuerte e insistente. En mi caso Pocholo ama que lo peinen, que le acaricien, si es de él dependiera, se le acariciaría y peinaría por horas, también ama tomar el sol en las tardes, además es muy territorial, pero al mimo tiempo muy cariñoso conmigo, es particularmente nervioso y ante cualquier sonido fuerte corre a esconderse.

Por otro lado, estos mininos suelen sufrir de algunas enfermedades como la gingivitis, atrofia de la retina, enfermedades cardiacas y algunos ejemplares tienen nudos en sus colas. Pero no por etas circunstancias dejan de ser atractivos y codiciados por muchos para ser adoptados, ya de manera consciente o inconsciente se considera da cierto estatus
