Snakes and me
Since I can remember I have been afraid and respectful of snakes, I know that as animals they have a function on this planet, but the truth is that I wish they had it far away from me, I remember visits during my school years and then with my family to the terrarium that is located in the Parque del Este Zoo.
These visits I think were the most, let's say, tolerable to see these living beings up close, because there is security, but living in an area near a national park and in which there are many green areas has allowed me to see snakes live and direct.
Of these experiences, the ones I have most in mind, have been thanks to pets. Years ago before he was born, my son had a dog named Towser and when he worked at night he would take him out for walks when he came home.
One of those early mornings I saw this dog jump on something. I hadn't really noticed that in front of me there was a snake, maybe a medium sized mousetrap, and he, like a good dog, jumped on it to take care of me, because it was right in my way.
Now, having cats, these experiences have become, let's say, closer or of the third type, because it is no longer that I get them in the paths of the Urbanization, my dear cats bring them home, they know that I am a useless person who does not know how to hunt and they want to collaborate with the protein, but at what cost.
Repeatedly he has brought snakes of various sizes, some dead and some alive, which for me is simply terrifying. There is an experience I shared some time ago here on HIVE. One of my cats, Kapuy, is an excellent hunter and I presume that on one of her nightly walks she encountered a rather large snake.
Fortunately, my mother and I had just gone to bed and heard her come in and meow the way cats do when bringing in prey. On our way out, we saw another of our cats, Christopher, lying on something that looked like a thin belt, but just to be sure, we turned on the light.
At first we thought it was dead, but he stood up and the snake got up. As expected, my mother and I screamed, I think we scared some neighbors, it was about 1 am. But the best part of this story is that Cristopher, took it out of the house and bit it. I don't know if his intention was to protect us or eat the snake, but for me it was so cute to see how he realized the fear that seeing this snake in the house instilled in us.
This has not been our last encounter and in the gardens many times when the plants are pruned you get at least one specimen, I am afraid yes, but I am happy to live in a place where there are opossums, hawks, porcupines, many birds and where there is no lack of fresh and pure air, I say goodbye leaving here my participation in the Weekend-Engagement #193

Wow! I'm scared to death of snakes, we all are in my home. If our cats brought home snakes, my mom would definitely send them away or sell them.
It's great that no one's ever gotten hurt...
I understand that the snake was not poisonous, but I was still terrified and here we are used to these children's gifts.
That is one of my biggest fears
If dead is scary, imagine if you think it is dead and suddenly it rises up.
Even if it is dead, I'm afraid of even laying my eyes on it.
