This is how my gardening projects are going

In times of drought or high heat our plants suffer especially those that are in the gardens and receive direct sun, so for a month or more I am very attentive (it has become a priority) watering the plants that are in the common areas, because here in my city the heat has been totally unbearable and the sun seems to be hotter than ever.

Now, I usually water the plants on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, these last two days I can use the hose, since water is coming in from the street and I really enjoy it, but on Tuesdays and Thursdays I use the juice and soda bottles I have gathered for this purpose, especially with some plants that are more affected by the direct sun and the lack of water, these are my beloved Cretonas.

Also, if you have read me before you know that I have several gardening plans and one has to do with giving more color to the gardens, planting various cretonas and this is taking more and more shape, a few weeks ago I planted three and this Easter I planted four more, this makes me very happy, Every time I see them I feel that soon there will be more color in that garden, it is so exciting for me, in fact I took the opportunity to plant more cuttings (seven more) and continue with this project, as you will see I planted one of each variety I have, but definitely the strongest and the one that grows faster is the one with violet leaves.

On the other hand, I got my husband to help me to open the soil to replant or relocate the three Aloe plants that I took out of the back garden, the humidity had them very damaged, only one looks more alive than the other two, but hopefully this change will benefit them, we all know that sometimes we transplant or plant and the result is not the expected one, but something is always learned.

I also added more soil to two of my indoor plants, one of them is a St. George's sword or Mother-in-law's tongue that has leaves with a yellow border and the other one is the silver one that I still don't know the name of, which is recovering after suffering from the lack of sun during the Christmas season and my cats harassing it to surround it to serenade it and ask for its food.

Lastly, I am a bit frustrated, because after transplanting my small Zamioculca, I think that its substrate does not drain very well and its leaves came off the bulb, one does not look bad, but the small one, which was the one it originally arrived with when I bought it, looks horrible, I hope it survives or I will have to buy a new one, but I already know that I must be more careful when transplanting this plant and choose a better substrate for it, remember that it is a succulent, I say goodbye leaving here these lines that are my participation in the April Garden Journal Challenge

En época de sequía o mucho calor nuestras plantas padecen sobre todo aquellas que están en los jardines y reciben sol directo, así desde hace un mes o más estoy muy atenta (se ha convertido en prioridad) el riego de las plantas que están en las áreas comunes, pues acá en mi ciudad el calor ha estado totalmente insoportable y el sol parece estar más ardiente que nunca.

Ahora bien, suelo regar las plantas martes, jueves, sábados y domingos estos dos últimos días puedo usar la manguera, ya que está entrando agua de la calle y la verdad lo disfruto mucho, pero los martes y jueves uso las botellas de jugo y refresco que he reunido para este propósito, sobre todo con algunas plantas que sé ven más afectadas con el sol directo y la falta de agua, estas son mis queridas Cretonas.

Así mismo, si me han leído anteriormente saben que tengo varios planes de jardinería y uno tiene que ver con dar más color a los jardines, sembrando diversas cretonas y esto cada vez toma más forma hace ya unas semanas sembré tres y esta Semana Santa plante cuatro más, esto me hace muy feliz, cada vez que las veo siento que pronto se verá más color en ese jardín, es tan emociónate para mí, de hecho aproveche para sembrar más esquejes (siete más) y así continuar con este proyecto, como verán sembré una de cada variedad que tengo, pero definitivamente la más fuerte y el que crece más rápido es la de hojas violeta.

Por otro lado, logre que mi esposo me ayudara a abrir la tierra para replantar o reubicar las tres plantas de Aloe (sábila) que saque del jardín trasero, la humedad las tenía muy dañadas solo una luce más viva que las otras dos, pero esperemos que este cambio les beneficie, todos sabemos que a veces trasplantamos o plantamos y el resultado no es el esperado, pero algo siempre se aprende.

Así mismo agregué más tierra a dos de mis plantas de interiores una de ellas es una espada de San Jorge o Lengua de suegra que tiene las hojas con orilla amarilla y la otra la plata de la que todavía no sé el nombre, la cual va recuperándose después de padecer en la época decembrina de poco sol y de que mis gatos la acosaran por rodearla para hacer las serenatas y pedir su alimento.

Por último, estoy un poco digamos que frustrada, ya que tras trasplantar mi Zamioculca pequeña, creo que su sustrato no drena muy bien y sus hojas se desprendieron del bulbo, una no luce mal, pero la pequeña que fue con que llego originalmente cuando la compre está horrible, espero sobreviva o tendré que comprar una nueva, pero ya sé que debo tener más cuidado al momento de trasplantar esta planta y elegir un mejor sustrato para ella, recordemos que es una suculenta, me despido dejando por acá estas líneas que son mi participación en el Reto del diario de jardinería de abril
