Wrong Sense Of Familiarity

Our brain tends to feel as if one had previously experienced a current situation, which has happened in the past.
We have all encountered situations where we have the strange sense, that we have already gone through what is happening at the moment.

Over the past year, this has occasionally happened to me. I'll talk about the last two incidents that I had.

Last December, I saw a guy at the bank.
I called out his name, "Tunde," and smiled broadly in
response. We gave each other hugs and exchanged greetings. He was overjoyed to see me as well, and I told him that I was pleased to see him once more. I went on to say that I hadn't been here since the Covid 19 issues.

Upon hearing this, his mood changed.
He said, "I don't think I'm the one you are talking about," because I wasn't In the state during Covid issues.
When I called your name, why did you respond? I asked after him. He responded that I got his name right.
His name might just be a coincidence in this particular circumstance, the man said.

I told him that I knew him very well and I started describing how we met in the bank after Covid 19 pandemic. We struggled to receive cash at the ATM. We met there twice during that period. He smiles that he's not the one. I feel embarrassed at this moment and think that something is wrong with me.

He then stated that this is an instance of Dejavu and that it used to happen to him, so he said I shouldn't be annoyed and that I might be feeling embarrassed. I was still unconvinced by his response, though.

I was surprised that I guessed his name correctly, so I believed the man disguised himself as unwilling to be my friend.
I was just confused because I got his name right

Another case that happened early this year was the situation that occurred between me and my boss.
We stopped at a filling station in Lagos ( Nigeria) to purchase fuel. I told him that we have bought fuel here before, but it has been a long.
My boss laughed and responded, I hope you are not sleeping.

He explained further that 'This is my first time here'. I wanted to argue but he has a retentive memory. So I couldn't argue.
I just responded that maybe they look alike, and the funniest part of the story, the attendant now replied to our conversation that they just opened the filling station the previous week.

At this point, I realized that this situation seemed familiar to me. The matter was still on my mind when I came home, and I concluded that the attendants and my supervisor had both made mistakes.
I, however, forgot about the entire incident because of the attendant response.

In Conclusion, Deja vu ( a French language) occurs when our brain absorbs information from the past, the sensation of familiarity may result from our brain repeatedly digesting several aspects of a powerful experience.
This can help in memory strengthening and boost memory retention.

Is not funny mostly seeing what you are convince and being sure of it, and it will turn out to be as if you're just created it to be so, it makes one to be insane. Hahaha thank God you didn't argue with your boss ooo.

So funny, I wanted to argue but I realised he has a retentive memory. So I was forced to be quiet.
Deja vu is very funny stuff.

Wow the name even matched the one in your head, sometimes I see a person and I argue within myself if I have seen them before.

That was the major reason the confusion rate was high.
You are very right in your point, it happened to me on many occasions.

Thank you for stopping by bro, you are amazing!!

Wow! Yours is different. At least that Tunde understood what just happened and if it's someone else, he or she might not take it lightly or easy with you, thinking something is wrong with us, especially if you are insisting you are right.
