Ask LEO: What is the importance of flexibility in Business?

How important is flexibility in the kind of business that one does? It is very important to note first that for business to progress and also prosper, the law of flexibility must be observed.

Welcome back to my blog.

For any business to go far and make name rigidity is not advised. If the owner of that business practices rigidity it will lead on the fall of that business. The business itself will not be attractive. To some individual how to attract customers is by bringing down the price of commodities a little, selling it cheaper than what others are selling. That is a very good strategy, especially to someone who is just a started. But moving on on the business you will notice that there are times when you bring down the price for a particular person not because you are just starting the business, but because you want to maintain a customer. Now for me this particular gesture helps a lot in doing business. A business person will not say because this is the price of this commodities in the open market, then nothing can be removed from it. It all depends. Some times you also noticed that the customer don't have the complete money and it may be a commodity that the customer can't do without, and this person has been buying goods from you. Of course you can be a little flexible for that day. Because you did that to that customer, it will remain in the customers heart and it will always draw the person that bought the goods back to you.

But for you to insist that this is the price and I can remove anything from it. The customer may decide to go to another place and buy the goods and may never return to your place.

I had an experience with someone that I bought cement for making blocks. I bought goods the first time, came back the second time to buy the same cement, but because I sent money to his account number and he didn't see the alart, then he refused to give me the goods and at that time the people that will use the cement are already waiting for me to bring the cement for them to work with. When I see that my customer is not ready to release the goods that I have paid for, I decided to go get money from someone and buy the cement else where. After an hour he called that he has seen the alart that I should come over to carry the cement, I told him that I have bought from someone else. He returned my money to me. From that moment, I stopped buying goods from his place. This is exactly what I am talking about. He lost a customer because he is too rigid in his business.

We must learn that in business, sometimes, we may decide to mellow down just to keep a customer.

Thanks for your time.
