Hello sweet ladies of hive community. I love every one of you.
I really need to talk about this particular topic that says

"Do you know how to be an effective advocate for your beloved one or friend when they're dealing with a mental health issue? Do you know how to respond, whom to contact for help? Have you ever been faced such a challenge?"

I want to attempt this topic because recently I went for a retreat for women and after talking to the women, a lady who just got married not up to three years was brought to me for counseling. She has been struggling with depression and she is already thinking of commiting suicide. When I looked at her , the first thing that came out of my mouth is " you have someone who loves you so much, and he is ready to take care of you, so you don't need to take yourself because you feel that no one loves you" I presented the love of God to her. And after our discussion, I made her see reasons not to end it all. She have a beautiful sweet girl of ten months that needs her attention.

By Way of advocating, I first need to identify myself with the fellow and made that person know that I am standing by his/her side. Sometimes what kills anyone going through mental issues is when everyone seems to be blaming that fellow for doing what he / she did that resulted to that situation. The truck remain that the deed has been done and little or nothing can be done about it. The thing now that we need to face squarely is providing a solution to that problem, not blaming that person.

  1. I need to connect that fellow to the word of God, which is where I also draw my strength from. Most times it is depression that causes this kind of problem. So when I am able to point the promises of the word of God to that person, I believe that it will go a long way to help.

  2. I also need to pray for that person, because prayer is the key to every problem. If that person have understood what God says concerning his / her situation, then the next thing is to pray to God for solutions. I believe that anything that God can not do does not exist.

  3. If the situation is not what we can handle, then we can refer them to a psychiatrist or a psychiatric hospital where they will receive all the attention The need.

In summary, people like that needs love, attention, care and not condemnation please! Even if that' person did something bad to have brought that situation, don't start by telling the person how he/ she would have done it to avoid this particular problem. Let's us be our brothers keeper.

And you, stop carrying the problem of the whole world on your head. This sometimes is the genesis of mental illness.

All thanks to@trangbaby for this contest.
I am also invited some great ladies in hive community

to share with the ladies their views about this topic: @marryqueen , @amiableamara, @prisca1, @abigail3
Remain blessed.
I love you all. 👏

Thanks dear. We can do that for ourselves. I love women so much and I don't want to see them go through any kind of depression at all.
Thanks for hopping in.

God's love is the only one that fills our emptiness, and it is my refuge for those moments when I was sad and it is the place where I share my joys.

Without him I could not be living this sweet present with my family. I feel that when we know God's love and we have people to support us, it is possible to continue.

You are right, when blame is pointed out far from helping we can sink that person, because in depression, their feelings themselves are full of guilt and regrets, coupled with feelings of inferiority.
