Story, story. Story.
Once upon a time. Time, time. You know that this is how we start any story when we were in primary school back then.

Okay πŸ‘. Let's kick start.
I had a friend who is used to sleeping all the time. Even in the class, he loves sleeping alot and that made the whole class to give him a name - sleeping muru anya. The name means, sleeping with your eyes open. This is because when he sleeps, he opens his eyes and you might not know that that he is sleeping because of how he opens his eyes.

There was this particular day that that we left him behind without knowing that he was actually sleeping. His parents kept looking for him without any results.

We saw him at the back seat of the class. When the bell was rang for closing we ran out thinking that he is just pretending to be sleeping. We thought that he will stand up and go home, not actually thinking that he was sleeping. We all went home and when he parents came asking after I told them that I don't know where he has gone to. His parents went round the city looking for him and all the answers they got was the same. The security man in the school also said that he did not see him, because he didn't even know that he was at the back of the class sleeping. No body thought of kidnapping at that time because we don't even know what it is.

It was already seven pm when my class mate Ade woke up and discovered that he was left behind in a locked class. He started shouting and there was no one to help him because the security man went to drink at the usual place he does goes to drink. He only discovered what was happening when he came back and heard someone crying inside the classroom. He opened the door and took him home. When his parents saw him, they almost beat the hell out of him if not for the security man that took him home. Of cause we did not see him in school the following day because he was too ashamed to face the class. Though he managed to come the third and never raised his head from the desk in oder to avoid seeing his class matea. This was how the class gave him the name - sleeping muru anya.

From that particular day every one became alert to always check after the class to make sure that he is not sleeping again at the back of the class. His name changed and he also started watching and make sure that he doesn't sleep again.

That was how my class mate got a name for himself. And that name stocked to him till when we all graduated from primary school.

This post was inspired by the hive learners community contest for week 89 edition 1- tell us a story.
This story is fiction and was created just for this contest.

You reminded about lots of things that happened in my early school daysπŸ˜€. I have entirely forgotten about the story story thing, and the different names that are being given to students with regards to their characters. I just remembered my nick name back then in school πŸ˜‚

Hehe , i still gave fantasy to sleep in my class even though now i am summing up my educational career.Even though he slept but his parents shouldn’t beat him. He hadn’t done this intentionally. I was about to say something for his parents but at the eleventh hour i knew that it was a fictional oneπŸ˜‚

This is really interesting, I have read about people who sleep with their eyes open but haven't met one.

I can imagine how everyone was worried about his whereabouts not know that he was sleeping in the classroom, the nickname he got is perfect.

Wow! That guy is unique, I know people who sleep so much too but for your mate, his case is different. If it were in these days, the first thing that would have crossed the parents mind was kidnapping.

African parents don't waste time, only the memory of the beating is enough to cure him of that sickness. I hope he treats that thing though, if not it's going to affect him badly someday
