The Most Embarrasing Moment Of My Life

We all have diverse memories of both good and bad ones. The most ridiculous of it all is the embarrassing one which we all wish never happened. Of all the memories I had in life, there is one embarrassing one that I wish I could wash away.

It was one Saturday morning, the weather was cool and bright. One of my friend's sisters was getting married on that fateful. I already planned earlier that I won't attend the event. But a friend called and informed me that Emmanuel would be attending the event.

I guess you will wonder who is Emmanuel. Enmanuel has been my long-time crush right from secondary school. I have always loved him. He is tall, handsome charming, and intelligent. Every girl in the class wants to be close to Emmanuel. His smile was so captivating. I have been dreaming of meeting Emmanuel ever since we graduated from secondary school. As soon as I had that Emmanuel will be attending the event. I changed my mind completely. I started planning on how to get to the event as early as possible.

Earlier in the day my mum asked me to fetch water and as well mop the house. I thought of how I could escape from those chores. I planned to quietly escape from the house once she's asleep.

Immediately I noticed my mum entered her room to rest. I rushed to the bathroom to take my bath and started dressing up for the event.

I did some makeup and sprayed a nice perfume so as to smell nice. After dressing, I checked myself in the mirror and I saw I was looking good. I decided to carry my sister's handbag without checking the bag because I was getting late.

I quietly sneak out of the house without informing my mum. On getting to the party I met a lot of my school friends and everyone complimented me that I was looking good. I felt on top of the world. Not quite long, I saw Emmanuel, I couldn't hold myself I ran and hugged him. He held my hands and complimented me that I looked good and smelled nice. I was so excited to hear the compliment. Shortly he offered me a seat next to him. I was so happy, At least it was an avenue for me to get close to him.

We started chatting and two of our classmates came to join us. It was a nice conversation. He asked me to get him a pen from my bag. As soon as I deep my hands into my bag. Guess what? Two big cockroaches flew out of my bag. Everyone flew out of their chair out of fear. Nobody wants cockroaches to fly on their dress. I was really embarrassed, how I wish I had checked the bag before leaving the house. Everyone began to laugh at me and I felt ashamed of myself. I was no longer comfortable to continue the discussion, what if there were more cockroaches in the bag?

I decided to leave the event as soon as possible to avoid further embarrassment.

How I wish I could wash that part off. Although it's funny but I learnt in a hard way. I left as soon as possible because I could not withstand the embarrassment. That's how the sweet conversation with my crush was ruined by cockroaches.
