WEEKEND-ENGAGEMENT 194: HOW I HANDLE REJECTION.

Hello everyone, It's yet another weekend and I'm so excited to participate in this weekend engagement 194, I'm adedoyin-g and i will be writing on how i handle rejection.

Life is full of ups and down. Rejection is never the end of life. This remind me of past few years when i applied for a particular job in reputable company. I got to know about this job opening through a colleague of mine who work at the company while i was doing my MSc program. I was desperately in need of job at that moment. I applied for the job, and luckily i was called for an interview. I was so excited believing i will be employed for the job.

I studied hard because it was a written exam. On the day of the interview, i dressed to my best and was so punctual, infact i came an hour earlier than the scheduled time for the interview.

When it was time for the exam we are called up on and both question paper and answer booklets were given. We are given 1 hour to answer all the question. After the exam, we were told that those that pass the first phase will be contacted for the next phase of the recruitment process.

Two weeks after then, i received a mail that i pass the exam and i make it to second phase of the recruitment process. I was asked to come for the second phase which is an oral interview. I was so happy that i made it to the second phase, so i prepared hard for the second phase.

I went for the oral interview and it was a successful one. I was asked few questions and i answered the questions properly. I was happy that i already got the job.

I waited for month i never received any mail, so i called my colleagues who work in that company. He later make enquiry on my behalf and was told that i was part of those who passed the recruitment process but does that were employed were based on connection with prominent men. I was so disappointed when i had this. But at the end i cheer myself up and focus on my Master's program.

Not quite long after the incidence, better opportunity came my way, i was grateful that i was not selected for the job. I learnt a lesson never to give up when you encounter rejection because their is always a light at the end of the tunnel.
