Market Friday shopping with hubby
Hello hive, its #marketfriday shopping
I really love to buy fabrics in-store, where I can always feel, touch and test the fabric before purchasing it
I'm always skeptical about buying fabrics online putting into consideration thoughts like
- Is it of high quality or fair quality?
- What if the colour doesn't turnout to be what I can see on phone
- What if the texture isn't my choice
- The vendor says its a stretchy material, is it really stretchy or slightly stretchy...
I was at a textile shopping mall with hubby, to get fabric for an upcoming event
The prices of fabrics are almost thesame with the prices we got during the last festive period and also there are new designs different from what we were offered last year 🤗🤗🤗
Though, some old fabrics are still very much available with their prices slightly lesser than what we got last year
A trouser of cashmere fabric cost ranges between #1000 - #1700 (One thousand Naira - One thousand, Seven hundred Naira) which is equivalent to between $2 - $3.4 last year and now, it's cost ranges between #900 - #1500 (Nine hundred Naira - One thousand, five hundred Naira) which is also equivalent to between $1.8 - $3
It was a pleasant experience for me, u doubt if I would have had such experience shopping online...
Thank you for visiting my blog
I agree with you! I don't think you get the same experience at all! I try not to get fabric online, although I did order some during Covid and it was okay, but, I probably wouldn't have bought it if I had touched it. Wrong feeling, not enough cotton in it.
I am glad to hear that not everything went up last year. That in itself is amazing! Thanks so much for joining #MarketFriday!
#MarketFriday began as a way to reach out across the globe and learn about different cultures through by their markets, especially local markets and farmers markets and eventually branching out and evolving over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but, it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact of what is these things are normal for us. There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world.
Fridays are all about the #MarketFriday Challenge! Looking to take part in it? Here is how:
