Cards From My Personal Collection: Erubiel Durazo 2003 Topps Baseball Card

Durazo was a solid, underrated player in the MLB from 1999-2005. I still remember vividly playing with him in MLB video games.

Durazo was used as more of a utility player from 1999-2002 as he only averaged playing in 72 games a season in that time. Despite that, Durazo managed to hit 11, 12 and 16 homeruns in three of his seasons in Arizona. Durazo also got to taste baseball glory as he was a member of the 2001 World Series Champion Diamondbacks.

When Durazo joined the Athletics in 2003 he got a chance to show what he can do in a more heavily used role. In 2003 and 2004 he averaged playing in 148 games and had 20+ home runs in those seasons. In 2004, Durazo had a great batting average of .321 and placed 23rd in MVP voting. I know that's low, but hey it's still pretty cool.

His career in the majors was cut short due to injury, and his last MLB appearance came in 2005.

Durazo did play pro baseball in Mexico though until 2012!
