I imagine they were very costly to get. Also, I like how you infer that Sky’d behavior is because of some from the past. Something like trauma we see in humans.
About that play ground, I think they probably just don’t understand it yet. Maybe you should bait them with the same strategy you use to tame by placing feed on the play ground when you open their cage, that way, they spend time around it at least long enough to notice that it’s there. Otherwise, the first thing they’ll do is fly around the room when you open the cage because they’re just excited to be able to fly long distance again.
Beautiful birds by the way. I would’ve loved to get some, but I currently can’t afford it. I think I’m going to get a fish bowl for starters and get more pets along the way.
Thank you so much for your comment and yes I think you're right. They don't know that the playground is theirs. Next time I'll put treats near their playground so they'll come closer to it and play on it.
