A landscape, my collge for Let's Make a Collage - A Contest for All Creatives on Hive - Round 54
And I did!
I'm very happy because this time I'll be on time. It took me a lot of work to get a result that was decent for me. It's a tough competition. I've seen beautiful work full of creativity and loose imagination. Somehow I felt overwhelmed by the inspiration and I said to myself that I cannot let go of the initiative and, above all, the goodwill.
I want to thank @Quantumg with all my heart. Their classes are wonderful. I didn't know anything about Gimp, and I told myself that it would be foolish not to take advantage of what was so generously being offered to me, so I took their posts and set out to make my participation a small learning project.
It's full of mistakes, but I'm very proud of it and I don't think it's such a bad result for my first project all at Gimp, from scratch and without knowing anything, and my second digital collage. I really found everything very motivating, I learned a lot of things and had a lot of fun.
Following the @Quantumg classes, I've done light effects, shadows, cut-outs. As I am a teacher, I know what it means to know that your teaching effort has been useful, so I leave a record in the blockchain forever of my gratitude to @Quantumg for how much it has taught me and how much I hope to continue learning.
Friends, I invite you to get close to this contest (rules here) and to follow the @Quantumg classes, even if you don't want to make collages but to make other kind of digital art.
I also thank Shaka and the community of ¨ Lets Make a Collage for the opportunity to create in this contest that makes Hive artists grow creatively. I hope to grow and improve myself.

Summary of the process
I started from the idea of self-referentiality for the composition of the scene that aims to capture a post-apocalyptic world. The procedures that guided this composition are fundamentally repetition to make the elements of photography resignify and the opposition between living nature and objects.At first I had a lot of images, but I realized that sometimes less is more (hehe); so I radically cleaned up my scene and closed it with the image of the runner's sign. People are only present as a representation within the representation (and this is very similar to my nightmares). It's horrific but I hope you enjoy it.

This debut with your welcome makes me very happy and comforts me (I saw that the competition is very tough. By the way, I loved your XY/XX vision glasses 🦂😆)
There is so much to know in GIMP. I have been using it for a few years now and miss so many of its applications. @quantumg opens doors that were closed to me. My problem is understanding it all :)

There is so much in your piece. The running sign is perfect. You managed to make a highly symbolic yet beautiful collage. Often, in striving to convey a message, we lose (I lose !) sight of the aesthetics. But, as you say, less is more. We have to allow viewers to receive our effort in the context of their own experience. The important thing is to create something that has an effect. We actually have little control over something once we have let it go.
Anyway, welcome. Great first effort. It is quite polished and impressive.
