DRAMA DURING COVID -19 PANDEMIC

Who else saw someone who blew COVID -19 out of proportion? I am not underestimating the effect of Covi-19, neither am I naive like some who up till now argues whether it was real.

What I meant that some blew it out of proportion is that some people I know were so scared of it and never joked with it. In the process they were so dramatic about their safety.

Foremost among them was a relative living with us.

I remember that period, He would never allow me to converse with any one in the compound. If I go to the well to fetch water, he would expect me back very soon. If he hears me conversing with any one, I will get a sermon when I go back inside. Haha. Even to open one door to a room or another, Hubby on the other hand would sanitize the door knob. I still remember my little girl telling me that very soon, Daddy will start sanitizing our calendar. Hahahahaha.

I can not count how many occasions they both went to grocery shop, upon coming back, they would sanitize the nylons and packets of the items bought before handling them over. Haha.

"Bros, do you have Covid already?" I would always ask, but he doesn't want to take chances from others.

I remember going to the market without a face mask. I got his call just when I was about to enter into the market. He reminded me that I forgot to take a face mask. I apologized and told him I would buy one. But he asked how would I sit in a taxi without it? He didn't know that I had alighted from the taxi. I can't count how many times traders didn't hear my voice over the face mask. I would just remove the mask and transact my business .

Then came the vaccine 😅
My Uncle warned my family not to take the vaccine. In his opinion, people who took it would die soon. Meanwhile, another group of people are expecting those who didn't take it to die soon.

One day a colleague met me and said, "this Woman, you are still alive?". I asked what kind of joke was that? He said that I was the first colleague to collect the vaccine despite the warnings not to. That he was told, even in Church that those who took the vaccine would die. I told him I have even taken up to three vaccines already. I was surprised one day when he called me to ask if it was late for him and his family to go and get theirs.

Life during Covid-19 was not easy. Imagine seeing a friend for a long time and even while standing in front of him or her, you are still waving at yourselves. 😅

My kid Brother got married during the Covid-19 and I was disallowed from travelling down for it. My family and I, including other family members far and wide connected through Zoom. When Hubby saw the number of people who attended, he was curious.

He said he thought the Government warned that they shouldn't be more than fifty persons in an gathering. I was scared about how different people were hugging my Brother. I called Mum instantly and told her to remind my brother not to allow any one hug him again. But Mum sarcastically said "Corona Virus is not real"

So I concluded that I would never visit them for some time any more. But unfortunately, one of my friends died of Covid-19. Her husband and my elder Brother brought her corpse from Lagos. According to my Brother, they dressed in a way to avoid contracting it, but when they got to the morgue, the attendant asked them why are they dressed like that "Corona Virus is not real" He said to them. Making two person uttering the statement.

According to my Brother, you needed to see how he ran to put on his own kit when they told him that the corpse they are about depositing in the morgue died of Corona Virus. Hahaha.

Even during the burial, the coffin was left in the Morgue, it was at the point where she would be buried that we went to the mortuary to get it. It was a harrowing experience that day, seeing my 42years old friend been lowered to the ground, leaving a five year old baby along with other older siblings and her husband who was also my childhood friend.

Covid-19 really shook the World and many lives were lost. It also opened new ways of doing this, like working from home and so on. Funny memories of it will never be forgotten.

Thanks for stopping by.

A lot of people died during that period as it was a pathetic season. But some like me do not believe it is real 🤣🤣 My sister would warn me always to use my face mask but I never enjoyed using it because it was like I am being inconvenienced to use something I don't like. Thank God because I hugged and interacted with lots of people. Those who died, it was just unfortunate 😕
