What keep bitterleaf surviving in Southern part of Nigeria that has stone environment is because the roots goes deeper into the soil. The deepness of bitterleaf roots inside the soil is what usually helps the lead to survive through dry period in Southeast Nigeria not minding the stone soil type.
Another thing that makes bitterleaf common and cheapest in Nigeria is because almost every household plant bitterleaf. This shows how the leaf keeps been around the people for caring. The more people plant and cares for bitterleaf is also what allows it to circulate and cheap.
It doesn't cost anything to plant bitterleaf but only the stems. The stems of bitterleaf is what's best for planting. When cutting bitterleaf stems to be used for planting, it's best to cut the stems that's a little greeny (the one still with life) and not the one that's old.
