Greetings to everyone from Cambodia! I have been to Koh Kong three times already, but the last time was the most fantastic. Every tourist attraction, I definitely must go to visit, whether it is the tour recommended or the current visitor review, but I don't really know why I miss this important place while I have been here so many times. Today, I show you every experience I have had exploring this Khun Chhang Khun Pen stupa.

Let's Start It!

To get to this destination, my tour friends and I take two different types of transportation. In the morning, before we reach the sea, we travel by Tuk-Tuk because the tour agencies said traveling by Tuk-Tuk can give us some fresh air rather than the bus. Another reason is that they need the bus to be washed because we drive on the flooded road, which makes the bus so dirty.

Location

Khun Chhang Khun Pen is located in Koh Kong province, behind the Sareth Resort, in Cambodia.

They are not rivers; the water you see here is the sea. Of course, this ancient stupa was built in the middle of the sea, which makes it strange compared to a normal Buddhist stupa.

Wooden Bridge, Not That Short

From the bridge, you can see clearly how shallow the water is. However, some areas aren't shallow at all, like in the middle one, and that is absolutely the reason why the bridge seems to be shorter than the usual wooden bridge.

Before I arrived here, I used to think that this kind of attractive site must attract a lot of foreign visitors, but I was wrong, the majority of people who comes here is national visitors.

Stupa

How amazing this rock stupa is? At the first sight, honestly if I haven't heard that it is a stupa, I would end up thinking that it actually a bell status.

Khun Chhang Khun Pen has been a worship place where Cambodian usually go to pray every major national ceremony like Khmer New Year.I am not sure if this is a myth, but according to what the local people and our travel agencies have told us, they explained to the visitors that this stupa is a stupa where people died because of triangle love. There is more deep history about this worship.

More and more relaxing walking along this street. In a similar way, running here for an exercise I think it also a good idea, but the only reason is that I am not pretty sure is the government allows for this case.

Traveling by the tour, as you might know, they have a time limited for us. We only have one hour for lunch. But, for me, as I am planning to collect more photography, it must be so sad. Suddenly, after everyone raised their hands to indicate that they agreed, one of my friends stood up immediately because she wanted to complain about this. I am not going to agree with her at first, even though I want pictures, but the majority of people already agree, so I would rather stand by their ideas. However, the thing is that my friend has her own reasons because her little daughter didn't feel well on the bus. Then, she gives her daughter a medicine in the hope that she will get well after 1 hour, but the doctor says that she has dizziness because driving on the mountain road made her sick. And the doctor advised that she needed to take rest for at least 1:30 hours.

Stumbled at Khmer Restaurant

Everywhere we go It's so unpredictable. And it's not even because of the travel agencies. We have changed the schedule as well as the place we planned to visit. One example of the unplanned traveling trip was the time when we actually stopped and have lunch here while the tickets description doesn't include this place. However, everybody still enjoy with it, feel like we are so adaptable.

When we arrived at the entrance of the restaurant, my friend and I were discussing whether we should join the tour lunch or try the sticky rice sold by locals. Honestly, I also want to join them, so at the final decision, we agreed that we would package the sticky rice that we bought there and carry it to eat with everyone in our tour group while we are on vacation.

In the natural outdoor and crafts - bungalow provided by our tour look super great for everyone to enjoy lunch.

Because I came here for the famous sticky rice that the travel agencies have recommended to us, she said, "Sticky here is soft, and kindly purchase it with a pork grill combo." Of course, without any delay. I walked toward the small vendor. It actually ends up that I have pork grill with sticky rice for lunch. By the way, this grilled pork looks more like baked chicken thighs that have been marinated with thick ingredients than actual pork thighs.

I am very excited about visiting this wonderful tourist attraction. By spending the whole morning at the stupa, having lunch, and taking the walking tour, I would say that it was definitely a fantastic experience. The thing that I have never seen has come up in front of me, which has really made my day. at the end! I hope everybody enjoys my post and my traveling journey! Good luck 🤞
