I didn't even know commissioning an artist was a thing
There are many artists doing it on Twitter/Instagram or the freelancing sites... Most of the ones with acceptable quality cost $70+ per art piece so I can't afford them...
I want to do it too, but my work style is too "emotional." I fear accepting a job then fail to finish it.

You sound as though the commissioning is often done by the artist
Sorry, I think I explained it wrong, you see:
Consumers "commission" artists to make art pieces, hence artists accept commissions.
I as a consumer can't afford the high praise great artists ask as the commission fee.
but I, as an artist want to accept commissions one day.
