I never smoked: Week 171

"hey Ahmad, wanna smoke? No!" I replied. this happens to me on almost every get-together. Sometimes my friends, sometimes my cousins or whoever person is around me if smoking. Believe me guys i don't even like the smoke from the other end of a cigarette. I wonder how they inhale and exhale that. I am firm on my statement that i never tried a single piece of cigarette in my entire life.

I have a reason behind it, My father might kill me if he ever get to know that i smoke cigarette and i think this is enough reason for a teen-ager like me. But now i am a university student and can easily smoke if i want to but i am a critical thinker and my thinking never allowed me to smoke. Let me share some of my thoughts with you people

A good cigarette pack costs 500rs here which means around $2.

A cigarette pack contains around 20 pieces which will last about one day maximum.

So it means to satisfy the smoker inside you, i would have to buy 30 packs a month making upto $60.

Well, for me $60 is a huge amount and i am not going to spend it on this cigarette thing when i can do some other good things (having more pleasure)

I want to answer every thought of a person, some of you might think that this was for the regular smoke, why don't you try it once or twice a week or a month. Ok.. Good question if anyone comes up with.

There is a saying in our native language which means drop by drop becomes a river I know very well that everything starts from just a little. So i don't want to pay any little attention on this smoking thing or else it will waste my important money.



Some general discussion

I am noticing that our new generation is greatly influenced by this thing. I often ask from them that what is the pleasure you take from it and they don't have a answer or some will reply "you can never know the pleasure without smoking" WHAT THE HECK!

I have some idea that many of them think they look cool when they hold a cigarette in hand. Hey bro or sis you never know how smelly you are at the time you are smoking. I accept there are different flavours in there but they are way costly... So if you are going to try those you might smell good but do remember you won't be having any Penny in the wallet.

My father is a chain smoker, he agreed that it is injurious to health but he can’t help himself. He told me he is going to quit sooner. When someone smokes in front of me I do start to cough badly. I can’t take the smell of it so, my father never tries to smoke in-front of me. Yeah, everyone has their own reasons to smoke. In this generation it is very common.

I agree.

It would be really difficult for your father to quit smoking as chain smokers consider it an impossible task.

Also the smoke from the other end is more dangerous than the smoker side.
