Hello Costume and Cosplay lovers of the world

In the name of all cosplayers and costume lovers on hive, I am setting up a cosplay contest within the cosplay community (hive-120185) . We like to differentiate us from the other ongoing photography contests on hive, since we do not want to concentrate on the quality of the photography technically, but on you having fun and the story you have to tell us about your cosplay or costume.

How is the Cosplay photography Contest set up?

There will be only one tier and a fan favorite. 1st-3rd place will be decided by the jury of the cosplay community and the fan favorite by most shares & likes. The price pool is split as this:

1st 10 Hive
2nd 7 Hive
3rd 3 Hive

Fan Favorite 10 HSBI

I like to create a gallery at the end of the year with all the winners and Fan favorites and we might have a chance to exhibit them online through VR. That is just an idea in my head yet, more ideas welcome just dm me on discord or contact me here.

How to enter

  1. Make a post on your own with the theme that was announced, describing your Cosplay idea or Story and reference to the cosplay announcement and the hive cosplay community with #cosplay @hive-120185
  2. Post it into the cosplay community @hive-120185 (only native posts, no cross posting)
  3. Post a picture and link of your cosplay photography entry in the comment section of the theme announcement post. Upvote on your post are not granted but very likely to happen :)

Make sure your post isn’t already in another photography contest at the same time. (so when you posted that picture like 5 years ago, it doesn’t matter but it should not collide with other photography contests of the same time period)

How long will the contests run for?
Each contest will be open for submissions for 7 days (or a week) always starting on Monday and closing on Sunday at 12pm CET.
The evaluation will take up to 7 days since this is the time the post will be eligible for likes and share. Also this will give us time to judge the submissions and create the post announcing the winners.
Which means for now the Contest will run bi-weekly (2 times) in a month. This frequency might change in future.

What are the themes?
Well as the name says it we will concentrate on cosplay content. So every contest will be related to cosplay or costume play :) Stay curious and give it a try.

The contest is right now just run by me and @schlees who helps with the price pool. But we are open to collaborations and support of any kind, also looking for guest judges, just dm me on discord. Ready or not we will start on the 18th of July with the first hive cosplay contest :)
The first contest post will be released 18th of July 2022. The theme for the contest will be in the theme announcement post. Make sure that you are following the cosplay community (@hive-120185) so you won’t miss any updates and the winner announcement.

Im Namen aller Cosplayer und Kostümliebhaber auf hive, rufe ich einen Cosplay-Wettbewerb innerhalb der Cosplay-Community (hive-120185) ins Leben. Wir möchten uns von den anderen laufenden Fotowettbewerben auf hive unterscheiden, da wir uns nicht auf die technische Qualität der Fotos konzentrieren wollen, sondern darauf, dass ihr Spaß habt und die Geschichte, die ihr uns über euer Cosplay oder Kostüm zu erzählen habt.

Wie ist der Cosplay-Fotowettbewerb aufgebaut?

Es wird nur ein Tier und einen Fan-Favoriten geben. Die Plätze 1 bis 3 werden von der Jury der Cosplay-Community bestimmt und der Fan-Favorit durch die meisten Shares & Likes. Der Preispool wird wie folgt aufgeteilt:

Ich würde gerne am Ende des Jahres eine Galerie mit allen Gewinnern und Fan-Favoriten erstellen und wir haben vielleicht die Möglichkeit, sie online über VR auszustellen. Das ist nur eine Idee in meinem Kopf, mehr Ideen sind willkommen, einfach mich auf discord kontaktieren oder hier über peakd.

Wie man mitmacht

  1. Erstelle einen eigenen Beitrag mit dem angekündigten Thema, beschreibe deine Cosplay-Idee oder -Story und verweise auf die Cosplay-Ankündigung und die Hive-Cosplay-Community mit #cosplay @hive-120185
  2. Poste es in der Cosplay-Community @hive-120185 (nur eigenständige Posts, kein Crossposting)
  3. Poste dein Bild und deinen Link des Beitrages im Kommentarbereich der Themenankündigung.
    Upvotes für deinen Beitrag sind nicht garantiert, aber sehr wahrscheinlich :)

Vergewissere dich, dass dein Beitrag nicht bereits in einem anderen Fotowettbewerb zur gleichen Zeit ist. (Wenn du das Bild also vor 5 Jahren gepostet hast, ist das egal, aber es sollte nicht mit anderen Fotowettbewerben aus demselben Zeitraum kollidieren)

Wie lange laufen die Wettbewerbe?
Jeder Wettbewerb ist 7 Tage (oder eine Woche) lang offen für Einsendungen, die immer am Montag beginnen und am Sonntag um 12 Uhr MEZ enden.
Die Auswertung wird bis zu 7 Tage dauern, da in dieser Zeit die Beiträge für Likes und Shares in Frage kommen. Außerdem haben wir so genug Zeit, um die Beiträge zu bewerten und die Gewinner zu verkünden.
Das bedeutet, dass der Wettbewerb vorerst alle zwei Wochen (2 Mal) im Monat stattfinden wird. Diese Frequenz kann sich in Zukunft ändern.

Was sind die Themen?
Nun, wie der Name schon sagt, werden wir uns auf Cosplay-Inhalte konzentrieren. Also wird jeder Wettbewerb mit Cosplay oder Kostümspiel zu tun haben :) Bleibt neugierig und probiert es aus.

Der Wettbewerb wird im Moment nur von mir und @schlees, der beim Preispool hilft, durchgeführt. Aber wir sind offen für Kooperationen und Unterstützung jeglicher Art, wir suchen auch nach Gastjuroren, meldet euch einfach bei mir im Discord. Mein Discord-Link ist ganz unten. I have always thought that cosplay was so cool, although I personally have never dressed up outside of Halloween. I hope to see some cool cosplay action from this contest. It is a great idea and more people should be subscribing to Hive's Cosplay Community.
