Gouache Painting: A Foodie's Art Dairy 🥧🍉🍍

These days almost 60 percent of my paintings are related to food or my love for it. What can I say, I can’t help it! Also, it is SO much fun to paint it. Dissecting the food mentally has enabled me to look at it very differently too. One way is just as it is presented: on your plate. And the second where you have to look at it from every angle mentally and add imagination to the process. Sometimes even through it!

This was a side plate in one of my super early breakfast in Bangkok last year. (next painting: main plate? :P) The sunlight hit the food and tea beautifully and it actually seemed to glow from the inside out :) These are the type of visuals that I really love personally as well as for some art studies. Personally because it makes me feel better and happy and professionally because they do serve as great sights for studies. Quite simple but beautiful in their own way. I decided to keep the layer a little translucent intentionally rather than making opaque forms.
