My first time in a kayak - A valuable experience.

I had been flirting with the idea of kayaking for a while. But it took a few months until really went after it. However, yesterday was the day: I had my first experience in rowing. It was 4 kilometers of emotion, concentration and appreciation of the nature around me. I went to a small island to see the sunset, and on the way back I was toast with a beautiful full moon. Wow, how refreshed I felt!

Kayaking requires concentration, if you are too distracted in paddling you can overturn to a side you did not intend and sometimes the current can make the kayak overturn in a single paddling. You have to focus in the bow of the kayak so it doesn't go out of the direction you want to go.But keeping focused on the bow didn't stop me from enjoying the view. I can say with certainty that at all times while kayaking, I lived the present intensely and this made the experience very valuable. Soon I intend to do it again, I want it to become a new hobby.

Some photos from my amazing day:

Awesome … wow … 1st kayak under the Strawberry Supermoon. It Does not get much better than that… maybe calmer waters. I try to kayak at least once a day. Your views are spectacular… definitely the #1 best way to live in the moment. Well done. Upvoted and reblogged.

Thanks! I can really understand now why you do this every day. I would too if I could; really enjoyed the experience. And I confess I got a little lucky my first time, right? The sky was amazing.

I learned to kayak in my forties, I was dating somebody who had access to two kayaks. I haven't been able to date since he stepped out of my world. But I found out that my neighbor who lives next door has two kayaks and is willing to share with me and my fiance. I'm excited and can't wait for the opportunity to get back out on the water for a while. Great photographs!

What a cool story! Go back to rowing if it makes you feel good; without a doubt this experience was something that changed my life a little, and I intend to make it a hobby.

Thank you for your comment. I really thought about it, every time the kayak changed direction because I distracted. ''What if life is like this?'' I thought. Sometimes we think we're doing things right, but we're going the wrong way, right? It's an amazing analogy. I wish that one day you have the chance to go kayaking to see how amazing it is.

Nice pictures taken judging is your first time kayaking.

I've not done that before, I don't even know what it feels like to kayak.
Though I've not really seen anyone kayaking in Nigeria or see the kayak itself.

But with what I know in paddling a boat I will say is more of the same thing in kayaking when paddling to any direction you feel like.

Anyway I know is fun and cool experience for you and I know it feel like have a new peace when on the lake when all you think is about the beautiful site you see.

Thank you for your comment! I wish you could have an experience with a kayak if you wish!

It's really unique.

Why in Nigeria is it difficult for people to do this?

Yes it is, depending on the location one find him or herself. many who live in the rural area don't have this opportunities and we don't have fast rivers, sea or ocean in state capitals to do that.
