Splinterlands Art Contest | Ash mirage.
Hi #Hiveblog friends , today I want to share with you my entry to the @Splinterlands contest (this is my second participation).
This time I chose a fire type card, the #ashmirage card.
I chose it because I found it quite an interesting contrast to what I had done before.
I loved the character, I felt that I had to give it that demonic aura, with fires, rocks, I really liked my demonic approach with that piece, in fact when I started to make it I thought a lot about giving it a demonic golem aesthetic or something like that.
Last week I did sort of a letter with my drawing and I liked it, I really thought it was great and I think I'll keep it.
By the way this one looks much better.
At the beginning of the sketch, I wanted to give it a kind of skin covered by plates, but as I progressed I thought it was a better idea to expose it as a kind of skeleton in flames.
At this point I thought:
Leave it like that it's awesome!!!
The orange color stands out incredibly against the black and I think it is beautiful, in fact I think this version of this piece is much better than the final result.
(Well if I exaggerate a little, the final piece is great).
Let's talk about the technique:
Here I wanted to do something different and I opted to leave the strokes pure, without blurring and without blending, I wanted to leave the hard stroke and see what happened, for my taste it was the best option.
